MasterMind 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 Hi Guys, I have been experimenting with using my lg2030 without the antenna for around 2 weeks now. I just removed the antenna and stored it safe and have been using the phone without antenna. I find that the range reception is normal. If so, why has the antenna been provided and is there any probs if we use the phone sans the antenna?

rakesh5295 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 Antena help in case the reception is week. i got the mobile in Feb 2003 when the signals were too weak in basements etc and at that time if we remove the antena then there will be no signal. its becuase now relaince has a very good netowrk coverage u find antenna non useful, but it helps where the signals r too low. rakesh5295 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 regarding health hazard i m sure that the antenaa doest create any health hazard. its the mobile techonology or its working which creates the problems and a phone with or without antenna both r harmful with same manners. Utsav 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 Hi Guys,I have been experimenting with using my lg2030 without the antenna for around 2 weeks now. I just removed the antenna and stored it safe and have been using the phone without antenna. I find that the range reception is normal. If so, why has the antenna been provided and is there any probs if we use the phone sans the antenna? I've gone through a stretched experiment session on this. My room in my office is surrounded by corridors/walls and there is a very feeble strength of signal. But there is no problem in connecting to the network as far as the ringing up of the phone is concerned. But if I receive the call, it gets lost. So I have to rush to the window before pressing the call button to receive the call, every time my phone rings up. But, if I remove the Antenna, it gets disconnected from the network and no service area signal is shown on the screen. In a word, the phone gets disconnected from the network. So, my dear friends, it is not at all unnecessary as it may seem to be. The antenna is essential when you are living on the edge!
ajitanand 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 So, my dear friends, it is not at all unnecessary as it may seem to be. The antenna is essential when you are living on the edge! Yes, I agree, and thats why I am now looking for an external antenna. BTW here is some strange thing i noticed: In my GTRAN handset, the internal end tip of the antenna is not/never connected to any electronic circuit in the phone (as it seems, when I tried to "research upon"). So how does it work? (I believe, thats why mine does not work with GTRAN )
biosbhai 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 Removing the antenna in my 2030 redues the range bars to half when there is full range. Also the phone goes in and out of service area when its in my pant pocket or when it is in my shirt pocket in basements. So I think its better to keep the antenna. Maybe we could find a better material which is shorter and can be used to replace the current antenna.... Any material specialists here?
