city02 63 Report post Posted July 17, 2004 On June 11, 2004 Reliance Infocomm announced its association with Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), a wellknown name in the pharma industry for a venture termed Project Chaitanya, which is aimed towards totally automating the sales force activities of the pharma major. Following this tie-up, Dr Reddy's Lab will be deploying nearly 1000 Prepaid connections to enable their sales representatives spread all over the country to use the Infocomm network to directly access DRL's main server from their ACER palmtops.Under the Sales Force Automation project, the entire list of doctors/chemists/stockists with their background is made online. The advantages of this tie up for DRL are many-fold, in that it resolves the issues on updating of list. “The benefits of the package for DRL include improved operational efficiency and an informed decision-making process,” says V Ramdas, Customer and Market Development Manager at Dr Reddy's Lab. Infocomm will be implementing the order in phases. As of now, 350 connections are already satisfactorily working in the f i e l d. Approximately 250 more will b e c o m e operational in the next two d a y s. The target for the final phase of implementation is July 2004.
