Anupe 14 Report post Posted August 2, 2008 Does anybody know if the audio output from Mogul/Touch is stereo? When you use the earphones that come bundled with the handset, you do get both channels, but the earphone jack used by the native HTC earphones are mini-USB. I've tried connecting a high end earphone (Shure) with 3.5mm stereo jack to the phone, using a 3.5mm-2.5mm jack converter, which is in turn then connected to the 2.5mm earphone socket on the Headset adapter supplied with the phone. But when I use this mode of earphone connectivity, the output is mono, aka, you can get the sound signal only in left channel. Is this because the native audio output signal on the HTC is mono ?? dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) The output is purely in Stereo, dear Anupe. I have been using it for a long time with my Sennheisers. What you need to know is that you need a 3 RING 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack converter and not the normally available 2 ring one i.e. there are 3 rings on the adapter jack, one for left channel, one for right and one for the mic. In the 2 ring one you will get mono output i.e. only left channel output and mic. I imported the 3 Ring adapter from ebay USA as I could not find it here in the local market. Switch to the 3 ring adapter and enjoy pure ipod quality stereo sound. (BTW I am listening to Exterminate by Snap right now). Pls confirm back how many rings are there on your 2.5mm headphone jack? Thanks Dhiraj !! Yep, mine has only 2 rings on it Any specific name for this "3 ring" 3.5 to 2.5 convertor boss? If you could mail me details on what you used on your search string or post it here, would be awesome. Btw which model of Sennheisers are you using? I know they rock, but check out Shure SE420 (they're extremely expensive, I got it as a gift though) If you have one high quality earphone it takes care of all ear phone requirements permanently, dont you think? Oh and my NEXT request to all fellow ppc users. Does anyone have a cab file/ tweak to change currency to INR in regional settings? I'm not using Hetal's ROMS, so I dont have Indian currency by default. A Screenshot of my present WM Firefox theme running on SpbShell 2.1 (check out the awesome Internet and Messaging icons, they absolutely rock) If any of you guys want it just let me know, I'll upload it here (Dont know how many "Mogul" users are eating their hearts out... Go Touch!!!!! ) Just kidding though, but I guess Spb Shell runs better on Touch than Mogul hehe Edited August 3, 2008 by Anupe

drmadhu 87 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) @SK jain u can download reliance prl again through QPST for roaming icon symbol. u are using original rom so u need to configure for reliance.for setting Link U can find in post #28 follow the anupe post and u can access internet in default rom Edited August 4, 2008 by vijaymalhotra_2007
skj 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 @SK jain Thanx Vijay, To update the prl I used this method instead of the QPST..which I did not understand. "How to update a new PRL on your phone. First get the file of the latest PRL and put it somewhere on your device. The main memory, or even the storage card should be fine. Then, download the "program to get MSL #" in the downloads section. Unzip it. In the folder you should see 3 files. You want GetSPC(PPC 2003).exe and PPST_KeyGen.dll. Transfer these two files to your Mogul. Your My Documents folder is fine. Just make sure the two files are in the same folder. You need to also have your ESN. You can get this by typing ##786# on your dialpad. A list of items should come up. You want the ESN(HEX) number. Copy it down exactly as you see it, the letters are case sensetive. Once you have the number run Get SPC(PPC 2003).exe. In the input field enter your ESN (remember, the letters are case sensetive). The output should be your MSL. Then enter ##775# on your dialpad. You will then be asked to enter your unlock code (MSL #). You will then be at the PRL screen. Tap the Update PRL Line so it's highlighted. Then hit Menu>Edit. You should then see a Value box. Hit the browse button and your Mogul should find the PRL file. Tap on it and you should go back to the Value box. Hit ok and you're back at the PRL screen again. Hit Menu>OK and you'll be asked to update the item. Your Mogul should automatically reset. That's it." The Roaming icon is gone but net is still not working. Will try the 2 points you mention and revert back... regards

Anupe 14 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 @skj: Please clarify a few things for me please: 1) Could you specify what error message you're getting when you try to connect to the Net. 2) When you replace the HTC_CM file which you have created with the one which is already on the phone are you getting the message asking if you want to replace the file on the phone with the new HTC_CM file? petar 15 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 unique problem in ALLTEL - mogul 6800 . I have a freind who bought the abovementioned phone and using it on tata. He has a unique problem - whenever someone calls him.... even before the phone Rings... he can hear the callers voice for couple of seconds... then he hears teh ringtoone... He has not pickedup the phone but still able to hear the convesation going on at Callers end. Updated the phone to latest sprint ROM & done evrything update. But problem is still there. Does anyone have idea what may be causing this.
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 Very unique and useful problem (How many times I have wished I could hear what the other person says about me before picking up my phone - he he) Seems the registry messed up, but you say you have updated latest rom, so that cant be the case. Maybe Alltel needs a different initiation procedure, same as Karki had posted for the Quest 6800. Perhaps that topic in Techie enclave could provide you with certain hints. gauravjc 47 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 @Petar Try programming the same handset for Reliance .. if the same problem exist then its the problem with the handset. Hope things work out for you !!
kshah 452 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 amazing problem. I think ALLTEL uses ESN in decimal not HEX (Correct me if I am wrong). So could it be because of DECIMAL ESN? try flashing with sprint ROM and see if it happens and try reflashing again with same ROM and it it reappears.
