zeus 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 Hi everybody .. well a quick intro on myself .. am a student currently based in Chandigarh & like most of you , very eager to know what Reliance has to offer in its broadband initiative .. So, what've we got , a STB offering you 100 mbps bandwidth, net , video on demand etc etc .. & wow the offer will be irresistable at 500 / month (if thats true). But hey , they haven't disclosed any features yet. Does anyone knows how much money a consumer will have to shell out initially. And what bandwidth can we expect if we use our PC for net (using STB) I mean if they can provide anything near to 2 mbps , then i don't think any other ISP will survive the game. I'd love to hear your views n comments . Regards Zeus

city02 63 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 some of your questions have already been addressed here: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...findpost&p=7928 but if any are still remaining, do post them also PS: forget about 100 or even 10 Mb/s, you will not get 1 Mb/s 256 Kb/s is the most you can expect for now... i would be quite happy with paying: 250 for cable 250 for broadband (128 Kb/s) or 500 for unlimited (256 Kb/s) 250 for unlimited VoD for a total of 750-1,000 monthly

city02 63 Report post Posted January 20, 2005 as a new user of netway (1 week old!), i'm telling you the reality - 1 (or even 0.5) Mb/s is out of the question for broadband for now start lowering your expectations to avoid major disappointment later PS: only pricing is speculation, the rest is factual
