Icici Banks On Rim

Recommended Posts

On July 14, 2004, ICICI Bank, India's second largest bank, joined hands with Reliance Infocomm to launch a truly interactive mobile banking service in India.

Following this tie-up, ICICI Bank customers who own RIM phones can now avail of a gamut of banking services at the flick of a few buttons, free of charge, through RIM's R World suite of services.

These customers can view their ICICI Bank account balance, get mini statements and make requests for chequebooks through their handsets. Apart from viewing presented bills, a customer can also make payments for these by directly debiting his or her bank account from his mobile. The service also enables a customer to locate an ATM or bank branch. On selecting any of these, the customer is directly connected to the bank and the result is instantly displayed on the handset. To avail of the mobile banking service, a customer can register at any of the ICICI Bank branches, or by calling the ICICI call center or through Internet banking.

“With this alliance, we have leveraged technology to merge the benefits of a mobile phone with our banking services. This will provide the customer with a convenient anytime-anywhere banking environment,” says Anup Bagchi, General Manager, ICICI Bank.
