I couldnt get Samsung Max in Chennai. Does anybody know where you get it in Chennai and the price. Guys, i need to know all your opinion fast, as my friend might sell it to some others. Honest 836 Report post Posted May 20, 2008 ^^^ @Ganesh My dear friend, Spice D88n is dual mode handset which is compatible with both GSM and CDMA. While Nokia 6275 is only CDMA handset. Both the handsets are quite good. First of all you must take the decision, whether you want to go for dual mode handset or only cdma. Nokia can be a good choice. But at Rs.6500/- a second hand handset seems to be quite costly. If it is available at Rs.5000/- then its ok. As one of our member told at the forum that the price of Nokia 6275 has already reduced. Thats why at Rs.6500/- it will be a costly deal. If you are getting brand new Spice D88n at Rs.7350/-, then it could be a better deal. You can use two connections on this phone at the same time. One Reliance CDMA and other any GSM. Final decision is of yours only my dear friend. Regards.
kshah 452 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 As I mention every where, Nokia services for CDMA is absolutely poor. They take 3 weeks for smallest of problems. So be aware before buying Nokia CDMA.
anuragz 4 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 I own both Nokia 6275 & Spice D88n. Both handsets are good in some way or the other. 6275 has a good camera with flash, fm, mp3 and an easy to use nokia interface. Whereas Spice D88n has dual sim, mp3 & a very good 1.3 megapix camera ( i m really impressed with its camera quality, No grains & no pixelate, very clear image). I gave up my nokia 6265 to buy D88n & i m satisfied with its performance. Hot Spot is selling it for 7350/- but i bought it from a local dealer for 7000/-
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) But D88n does not support JAVA and has a smaller display screen that is not suitable for WAP browsing, Am I right? Reason for Edit: Sorry, I confused myself with C810 and 88n, the latter does support Java. Edited May 21, 2008 by KumaarShah
GaneshJ 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 Thank you all for your response. I am going for D88n as most of the people in the forum recommend it. I am not looking for dual sim but a good CDMA handset with some good features. As you all know, the options for very limited unlike GSM. C180 not available in chennai and also i couldnt find samsung max. Blackberry and palm are very costly to me. So i had to settle for D88n or No 6275. The problems i think with d88n are - no FM and not so great battery life as discussed by fellow members. But people say even 6275 do not have great battery life. Guys, your advice/opinion are welcome.

Honest 836 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 ^^^ @Ganesh Yes my dear friend, battery is not an issue with Spice D88n as you get an extra battery with this handset. The major benefit of this handset is that its Dual Mode. May be in the near future you need a gsm number or you just purchase a new number then you will get the benefit of this dual mode handset. And when Reliance launch its GSM services then also it could be beneficial for you. Regards.
