Code 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 How to do it(possibly) in RD 7130/7230 ====================================== 1.Save a Draft message from Ur phone thru R-World. 2.Open the file system in bitpim. 3.Find out which of the folders under ams directory contains the mms client. 4.Download the #D#R#A#F#T.db fle on to your desktop. 5.Open it with a hex Editor. 6.Select the Portion starting form MThnd to FF2F00 (hex) i.e the midi file enclosed there. 7.Create a midi file with the exact size (most painful step) in PSM player. 8.Open the midi in the hex Editor (another tab or another instance). 9.Replace the contents just highlighted(selected) in Step 6 with the contents of Step 8 midi file. 10.Save the modified #D#R#A#F#T.db file in the hex editor. 11.Upload the #D#R#A#F#T.db file back to the phone (using PSM player). Connect to R-World-> MMS. Select Send MMS select the draft message. If all goes well U should hear Ur favorite midi file. Send the MMS EDIT: Found a serious flaw in this. The midi sent will be from the url in the draft file. I dunno how to make the link instead point to a local file. Some one with RD 7230 can help here either by analyzing the #D#R#A#F#T.db containing a camera picture or posting such a file here for others to analyze. karpar 1 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Isn't this supposed to work on LG RD 2030??? I mean, what's the difference between the two sets as far as ringtones are concerned? And both can send MMSs... Correct me if I'm wrong...
Code 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Thanks niket I will give it a try once I am back home - this week end.
Code 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Niket I checked that the file U sent has the midi modfied (Did U use a hex editor or Ur phone permits to do that ??) I was looking for the draft.db files one with a local pic & NOT midi (one taken from ur camera) so that it can throw some light on linking local files. Best Regards
StaticElectricity 8 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 ayuh, infact nikets file contains a midi file and a PNG pic, taken from R-world gallery section
Code 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 I know __ I wanted that the pic be taken from the camera of the LG phone and NOT be picked from the R-World Gallery. By studying such a draft.db file one can get an idea how this local file is linked. Now what niket has done is adding a custom midi file in place of the one from R-World - This works only on Ur h/s. When u mms it the recipient will instead get the mid that was originaly contained as the link still points there. Hope I clarified it.
niket 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2004 Code, I modified MIDI with Hex Editor But Whenever I modify #D#R#A#F#T.db.. MMS Saved in Draft No Longer open in MMS Client In R-World so I conculded that Some where In #D#R#A#F#T.db it saves header information about files stored in #D#R#A#F#T.db So If we able to success fully alter that info it is possible to send modified MMS. In following #D#R#A#F#T.db file photo taken from my phone is saved check that out. and only one mms is stored in this file with ringtone(it is "humtum" form Rworld) and photo. pls do all you can..!! Regards Niket _D_R_A_F_T.db
Code 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2004 Thanks for the draft.db file. I will study it. I remember to have successfully added my own custom MIDI and Pic and then opened it in the mms client. I used the MIDI and pic with exact same size as original (not even 1 bit longer or shorter) and it works*. But when I send it to some on the original one (not one I upped) is sent due the link pointing to the R-World file. *It means the byte offset of Midi and png is stored some where in the header __ I am yet to find out where exactly. If we find out then we can prolly write a draft mms editor to add new midi/png using a GUI on our desktop and then upp it. Lemme work on the local link stuff first
