Gtran-usb Installation

Recommended Posts

;)

We (my close field and myself) have exchanged our old B/W Samsung sets with this GTRAN 4020. But there are few problems that we have found when we wre trying o install the USB.

The USB installation has failed on both 2K and 98 systems... it says that the appropriate driver is missing in the CD (could't find an appropriate driver).

And when we looked inside the 2K driver folder in the CD, there we no *.dll files there.

Don't know what to do...

The hardware profiles...show a big questionmark for "Qualcomm CDMA technologies" and properties show that the driver is missing!

Tried calling RWord....those guys have no clue...

Sent a mail to the forum on GRTAN site... no response

Can anyone help us out....

If you are using R-Connect then how did you install it????

Dear Mahidhar... have already done that.... they are there in the ME_98 folder but not in 2K_XP one...

even tried to find the *.dlls on net... couldn't find.... help...

Missing *dll's are not the main problem... USB installation failure is the main one...

Hi, can you post some more details on the error message? (i.e. when did this error come, after which step)

One point - Have you ever run any device over USB port on this machine?

Just check, since it could be a hardware problem for your USB port. Windows 2000 (and above OS) must automatically find and configure USB Support.

hi all!

Here is how you install the driver for GTRAN. Just right click the Qualcom question mark and choose Install Driver or Update Driver button. In the next box choose manually select a driver. The driver path is there in C:\Program Files\GTRAN\GTRAN PC Sync Tool\Driver\gtmdm2k.inf (assuming you installed the GTRAN sync software to c:\program files\GTRAN... change it as appropriate). If you have not installed the GTRAN PC Sync software, do so from the CD that comes with the package.

The driver will report GTRAN USB Modem and install successfully.

Thanks for the responses.

It does not seem to be a USB problem, have tried installing it on 3 systems, 2 of our IBM laptops both on 2K OS, and our Desktop on 98 system.

The error comes when after PC Sync installation... it tries to install the USB. I ask it to search the drivers in the CD... it fails. I will try that progra~1 location suggested here... hope it works....

Anone has any idea why it does not save ringtones from RWord??? "RWorld not ready" is the permanent banner there when you try to save!!

Thanks again...for all the help....

i have a GTRAN which a month or so old, i was able to save few ringtones from R World, so it is definitely not a permanent problem. But i would advise ypu to download midi files and use them as ringtones once ur installation problem is solved. There are some amazing and loud ringtones available and there is a post where one of the members has posted over 4000 midi files, The file is 27Mb size but has some excellent tones. My advice: install PC sync and download!
