AmanJ 1 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Reliance grooms Little Geniuses in Web Worlds Shilpi Das Email Print July 28, 2004 Reliance Infocomm is all set to make little children computer savvy by introducing the "Little Genius" programme in their various Web Worlds across Mumbai. Designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years, this 10-hour programme promises to teach the basics of computers through five hours of teaching sessions and five hours of practice sessions. The participation fee for the event is Rs.600 per child. The curriculum of the whole programme includes Internet surfing, writing emails, Internet chatting, creating e-cards and teaching basic MS Office 2000 applications like MS Word, PowerPoint, paint brush etc. Besides this, children will also be taught to play online single and multiplayer games, listen to online music from an online music library and create self-made short movies through the web cameras and microphones available in the web worlds. Certain games will be held during the session, winners of which will be awarded with small prizes. At the end of the whole session, each child will be given a certificate, stating their participation in the event. The "Little Genius" programme has already started last week in a few web worlds across Mumbai. However, most of the other web worlds will begin this programme in the present or the next week. Speaking to Techtree, one of the Reliance Infocomm officials from Fort Web World said, "Right now this initiative is only introduced for users in the Mumbai circle.
