Honest 836 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Tata Communications launches telepresence services 1 Jul, 2008, 2123 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: Tata Communications, formerly known as VSNL, on Tuesday launched telepresence services worldwide on Cisco platform for enterprises. This is the first ever service to deliver both private and public Cisco telepresence rooms to businesses across the world, a company release said. Telepresence provides high definition, life-like conferencing facilities with audio-visual facilities that can provide a viable alternative to traditional face-to-face meetings. "Tata Communications is committed to offer its worldwide customers, innovative, cost-effective and efficient ways to conduct their business," company's President (Global data and mobility solutions) Vinod Kumar said. Tata Communications has implemented Cisco telepresence in many of its offices and also in other Tata group companies in various geographies. The company also offers telepresence services at public rooms that can be taken on rent on hourly basis, added the release. The service provider also said that it is collaborating with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to provide this service for indian business meetings.
