unwantedmails 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Lets Discuss on what happens behind the scenes on the RIM network (server side) when we make calls. We will organize of conclude this in 3 Areas 1. Authenticating - How does RIM Servers know who I am etc. 2. Authorization - Should I be using the network ? Am I Allowed to Make Calls ? 3. Accounting - How is Billing Data Stored ? How is it that they can manage so many users at a time ? What sort of Database do they have ? I was reading on RADIUS Accounting some time ago. Do they use it ? gadget_monk 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 hi - as far as identification goes each CDMA phone (or RUIM card as the case may be) has a ESN number stored on it. Reliance servers have a manifest of valid ESN numbers in its network and they use this to identify the phone.
