@ksh@T 20 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 NEW DELHI: Mobile operators Airtel and Tata Indicom have slashed their pre-paid tariff rates from on Friday and launched new schemes in order to retain their existing customers and woo new clients. Bharti has announced that from today onwards, all its pre-paid customers in Delhi and NCR region would be able to make local calls to any mobile or landline at 50 paisa per minute by recharging with Rs 49. The recharge would have a validity of 30 days but would not have any talk-time, it added. Similarly, Tata Indicom has announced that with a recharge of Rs 499, Tata Indicom prepaid customers can make unlimited free local and STD calls to all tata phones across the country. Also, with this recharge, which has a validity period of 30 days, customers can make local and STD calls to any other networks at 50 paisa and Rs 1.5 per minute respectively, said a company release. KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted July 5, 2008 ^^^ Interesting changes. But RCOM is the pioneer of 50 ps to any phone in your circles. And at 49, they also provide onnet at 33ps, which Airtel may not be providing. And is the tariff change of Airtel only for Delhi and NCR or the RoI also? As for Tata, their userbase is low and hence they can afford free STD to any TATA phone. Offnet STD should have been 1 buck to make it more attractive. Another interesting observation w.r.t Chennai / TN circle of RCOM Jadoo 49, 98 etc is that these are being treated as paired circle and not single circle. Hence calls to other LLs of TN from Chennai are charged at STD rates of 1.50 and vice versa for calls to other LLs of Chennai from TN. This is in contrast to the postpaid offers where all LLs are charged at 49ps under LP49. When they introduced LP49, all calls to any phone across Chennai/TN were charged at 49 ps only but now they say that these are paired circles.
