Bobby 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2004 Hi! For those who are confused I wish to put light on Internet charges: 1. Rconnect charges are on prorata basis if you deactivate it. 2. No RConnect charges for Reliance Wireless Phones. 2. Deactivaton cannot be done within 24 hours of activation. 3. Dial *412 for Activation (Mobile) 4. Dial *4120 for Deactivation (Mobile) 5. 40 paise per minute internet charge for Mobile ---Here if you are on the internet for 31 minutes you are charged Rs.12.40ps ---plus one days RConnect charge if you deactivate it (after 24 hours) 6. 10 paise per minute internet charge plus 90 paise or Rs.1 or Rs.1.10 (based on ---Tariff Plan) for 3 minutes (1 pulse) for Fixed Wireless Phones. 7. If you are on the net for 31 minutes using FWP you are charged 31 times 10ps ---and 11 pulses (Rs.1.10 x 11 if under 500 plan) 8. If you are on the net for less than 90 minutes per day on an average then FWP ---is the cheaper option 9. If you are on the net for more than 90 minutes per day on an average then ---mobile is cheaper because Rs.200 per month is fixed whether you sit on the ---net for 8 hours or 1 hour per day. Lets take charges per 3 minutes : FWP - 10ps x 3 plus Rs.1.10ps (for 3 mins) = Rs.1.40ps Mobile - 40ps x 3 plus + Rs. 6.67 (one day RConnect charge) Here if you are on the net for 1 minute FWP wins. Infact FWP wins if usage is less than 90 minutes per day. Now Lets take charges per 90 minutes per day : FWP - 10ps x 90 plus Rs.1.10ps (for 3 mins) x 30 = Rs.42.00ps Mobile - 40ps x 90 plus + Rs. 6.67 (one day RConnect charge) = Rs.42.67ps Till here FWP is cheaper and after this mobile wins. If I sit on the net for 4 hours today, using Mobile I pay Rs.102 and using FWP I pay Rs.112. Similarly if I sit longer I benifit using Mobile compared to FWP. rsucker 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 simply i was thinking that fwt is 24 Rs. per hour for 1500 plan and for mobile you have 24 Rs. per hour plus 200 monthly rental. And if you are heavy users. ur call get deducted from 1500 + ISP charges that is 10 paise per min. and moreover it is 11 Rs. per hour at night after 10:30 so plz tell me if I m wrong when I say FWT is cheaper for high uses ? Arun 795 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Some member has pointed out that the subscription rate is on 'prorata basis' as it was charged like that in his bill (activated after August 2003). This needs to be confirmed as RIM officials say it is a monthly flat fee rental. See this post.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 I say this confirmed bcz Last month i used R-Connect for around Rs 30 When Bill came it was billed Rs 100 + this 30 Rs The only difference now in their billing is the usage and subscription charge comes as a single amount totalled Rs 100 - 50% waiver on subscription charge is given to users till Jun 30 th
amtrag 20 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Ashok, Rconnect is charged on per session basis i.e. starting from when you dial upto the time when you disconnect...irrespective of the intermediate idle or even 'dormant' periods. And yes, monthly charge for r-connect mobile users is on prorata basis...my own personal experience. Charges are waived 100% upto 30 june for users who activated before 15th aug and 50% for those who activated before 30th nov.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 50% is given even for users who activated on may or june.. This is my experience

Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Hi guys i want to tell that it is confirmed that RConnect subscription chareges are applied on prorata basis i activated my mobile two months ago when i received my first bill, it was from 19 may to 25 june and the RConnect subscription charges were not 400 (because it was bill more than one month, so it should be 200+200 for two months) but it was 236 approx. (i forgot exact amount, but it was around 236) so they added 6 days rconnect subscription charges also therefore if u activate ur mobile as modem by dialling *412 on 27 july and u deactivate it by dialling *4120 on 29 july then u'll pay 20 Rs. approx as rconnect subscription charges.
