@mitJ@in 256 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 Great to hear that.... and 160GB coming in Blue also?? .... or was it marked 120GB and the HDD turned out to be 160GB (as I have heard on many forums, that Acer is facing shortage of 120GB HDD and is shipping 160GB inside AAO's marked as 120GB, FOC of course...) It is genuine 160 GB printeid on Box and back of Laptop. One could also get a fast SD card and fit it in the left slot and enable swap for that card (so one never runs out of system memory). How do it work in XP? I will put 8GB card into it.But any settings required to get it work in XP?

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 You did not take a trial before hand? because these are some inherent compromises for reducing the size and weight.... You will have to weigh both the pluses and minuses.... And let me tell you, it is all a getting used to curve which takes some time, but after 1-2 days you will start feeling comfortable... and in the netbooks, AAO has one of the best keyboards, others are even worse... It is designed to work lying flat on ur back on ur bed and put it on your tummy and then use... hehehe Or sitting on your Toilet pot and then use it.... dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 Try the Battery Management to put your Laptop into screen saver mode/monitor off mode/suspend mode more quickly when not in use; or else complain to Acer Customer Care, as battery must still be under warranty... It should give 2-2.5 hours plus at all costs even after using everything...
Honest 836 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 @Amit Actually as per Acer, their laptops provides maximum of 2 hours battery backup at the optimal usage. You are getting 1.45 hours that is good enough. You can try Battery Management or Power Settings also as Dhiraj said above. I think by managing Power Settings you can get above 2 hours battery backup. Regards.
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted December 16, 2008 ^^^^ Dear Kamal, You are factually wrong in the above statement, as the 3Cell Battery in the Aspire One with Atom processor is supposed to give 3 hours backup at all costs (kindly read the link given earlier in this topic to follow to Acer website for specifications) and the optional 6 cell battery is supposed to give upto 6-7 hours backup. This is not a conventional notebook and hence the backup time is 33% more than other Acer Notebooks. @amit Kindly take remedial measures as I have suggested earlier or else take it to Acer Service Station, as they will sort this problem out only during Warranty...
