karpar 1 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 That's a break through! Nobody was able to access the file structure of a Samsung phone before... I think it would be a big help for the Samsung users if you post the method too. But then, you say you find an error waiting for you...I'm not sure on that coz I have an LG...hope you get a solution! anujit 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2004 The 563 accepts MA2 & MA3 formats. Never heard of them myself! I tried with Bitpim .7-15 & .7 test 10 neither worked! Look for MA2 & MA3 converters and let me know if you've been able to upload. Are you using the Windows version of Bitpim??? what about the cable? is it the 1200 bucks reliance rip off or the 100 bucks local market stuff?? im on the 100! Chirag 5 Report post Posted August 18, 2004 I can now replace the ringtone on a samsung sch a563 ....the only problem is : Can u give us a detailed description or flowchart of going abt with this? Right from Connecting the chord to the PC and how to access the File Structure(Wht settings to be used etc). In the mean time, if some1 cud check if this works on N191 as well. Dont have a chord myself!
Code 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2004 Its a Success ....I can now replace the ringtone on a samsung sch a563 .... the only problem is : if for example i have a ringtone called gujarati3 and i over write it, the tone is replace but the name wouldn't If U overwrite then the name won't change coz according to the screenshot U posted (on the prev page of this post) the name of the melody is contained in the file name itself. So U need to delete the original audio file and replace with a new one with the required name in the end - to change the file name too. But as usual we don't know how the device behaves on deletion of a given file (may even crash permanently) or nothing may happen. However some one with a handset under warranty and want to test can try it out. BTW what version of bipim did U use? And please post any other details as chirag already requested.
