Marketing Gimmick By Rcomm For Its Data Cards

Recommended Posts

:Contento:

To push its Data card Sales, RComm has resorted to cheap tactics by publicly declaring & publishing that their Data Cards are 4 times faster than Dial-up.

Now the general perception we all have is that both are having similar speeds; just that u get All India mobility in the Data card.

But by putting such advertisements, could they have entered a Danger Zone ?

It may be wrong to publish such statements without the * conditions apply clause.

But they might just get away since they didn't mention which Dial up..

infant all wireless connections are same. I have tried reliance , tata, bsnl evdo and Airtel edge. All are cousins of each other.

True... AirTel's EDGE is slow as well, though it costs lot less than Reliance NetConnect.

Airtel in ahmedabad is 30-50% slower than reliance. It is EDGE. GSM can never be as good as CDMA.May be WCDMA can compete EVDO, not sure

But i heard Airtel is good.

By its very nature, GSM is slower than CDMA where Data Card are concerned as my friends too have righty pointed out..

Ppl complaining about CDMA Data card; could be due to Bad Network/Signals or some software problems/conflicts with System. Last possibility is that Data card could have a mnfg defect.

Saying this cause a lot of Top Corporates prefer Airtel for mobile connectivity in Bangalore.. but Data cards have to be CDMA.

1. Due to Shortage of Spectrum Airtel is forced to offer Single Slot EDGE as opposed to Multi Slot EDGE 2.0 offered in USA. EDGE can easily provide 250 kbps Speed.

2. WCDMA is absolute and will never come in India, India will see HSDPA with 3.6 mpbs Single Slot of 5 Mhz OR Dual 10 Mhz Slot can provide 7.2 Mbps Theoretically.

3. BSNL EVDO is worst Performer as they have Deployed 1 EVDO 1.25 Mhz Card which coveres 5 Km Radius or 10 Km Diameters (Again same mistake they did in GSM 4 year Back) they sud atleast have 2.5 Km Radios for EVDO for Good Connection

My dear friends, I had used Vodafone data services without Edge. Believe me its speed is just comparable to Reliance Net Connect. Used Vodafone Data services for more then 3 months without any hassels. Whereas Airtel now a days is not providing good data speeds at all.

Regards.

hsdpa is based on wcdma...and gsm cant be better when it comes to data

Talking about Tata..

Its a general notion that Tata is a better performer than Reliance.

Since they both work on the same CDMA platform, whats the big diff..

Is it low subscription in Tata, so lower traffic ?
