mihirf2003 7 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 well thought the phone might be of very low quality but that price makes mobile affordable to many poor people... and that is wat matters.... to increase the subscriber base and allow poor people to get a taste of technology... way to go HCL... thinkpositive 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) The same handset TATA indicom (ZTE 332) is offering at a price tag of 1099 with a life time validity sim call rates 10 ps onnet per min, 50 ps offnet mobile per min, 1 rupee offnet landline per min within kerala. STD Rs 1.50 per min. For PING the starter pack cost is extra (for lifetime validity Rs 499 extra, I think.) then it comes 499+499 = 998 rupees call rates are also bit high comapred to TATA indicom. I think the offer is only in KERALA. http://www.tataindicom.com/t-personal-mobile-handsets.aspx ZTE 335, ZTE 336 have the same features that ZTE 332 (PING in case of HFCL) have, only the outside body is different Edited April 12, 2009 by thinkpositive
vvinayakpai 26 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Reliance Making A Killing!, Is Ping Mobile it the cheapest???? Friends, I had a look at tariffs charged by an operator named HFCL which operates under the brand name PING in Punjab. I was utterly chocked to see the tariffs so low. Juts have a look at the tariff on the below link, http://pingmobile.in/pre_ping_plus.html Amazingly cheap tariff!!!!!!! Local calls to other networks within the same circle charged as low as 2paise per minute. How does the company make money at all!!!! When an outgoing call has to be made to another operator, the calling operator has to pay 30ps per minute to the operator in whose network the call terminates. Amazing tariff!!!!!!!! HFCL also provides mobile services on the CDMA platform rather than the GSM platform. Is it some advantage the CDMA players have or is it something else which makes it viable for this operator to offer dirt cheap tariffs??????????????????? srk006 21 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 ^^ Its 2paise/sec and not 2paise/min!!
prathod 3 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 They dont seem to have roaming services for thier customers
pasumark 51 Report post Posted November 28, 2008 The new players have to offer something extra to capture market. So next year we may see many more goodies. Particularly in GSM since Reliance and new players will enter in
amtrag 20 Report post Posted November 28, 2008 HFCL is an old player offering CDMA services only in Punjab. So only those people would be using their services who never roam to even the neighbouring states like Haryana or Himachal.
Honest 836 Report post Posted November 28, 2008 But HFCL's Tariffs are the most reasonable my dear friends. Hope they start services in other states also.
