HetalDP 947 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 If both completely stop cdma then what will happen to the already established infrastructure?even reliance is rapidly spreading IT'S cdma network where wasn't previously.had it been preparation for closure they wouldn't bother to increase their foot print in cdma, rather they would spread their gsm notwork.so i think they will not stop cdma completely.either they will sell it to somebody or may provide only voice services through it.everything will be clear once the bidding process for 3G spectrum starts. A Cell Site Contains Generators, 48 VDC 24 Batteries, AC Insulated Chambers, CISCO Metropolitan Fiber Switch, Passive Tower, 800 to 860 Mhz RF Transmitter / Receptor (Can be Commond for 800 / 1900 CDMA and 900 GSM). GPS, So only 20% Investments are CDMA Specific all other are just a Telecom Infrastructure which can be Shared for 3G GSM or GSM bu Just Enabling Switch and RF Units of GSM, Reliance have been alloted 1800 Mhz Spectrum for GSM so it have to Invest for New RF Transmitters only. Honest 836 Report post Posted October 14, 2008 Tata and reliance has already stopped fresh investment in cdma. Tata recently changed their switch from huewei to zte . Some says its preparation for gsm. Hmmm. No fresh investment in Cdma by Tata and Reliance. Thats not good at all. Now, we can imagine the future of TATA and Reliance CDMA in India. Regards.
