Tata-Virgin Mobile lowers STD, local rates

Taking the competition from GSM players head on, Tata Teleservices and Virgin Mobile today slashed STD and local rates on pre-paid services to 50 paise per minute.

TTSL-Virgin customers can now call any number, mobile or landline, across networks at only 50 paise per minute after the initial three minutes of the day.

The first three minutes of a STD call each day would cost Rs 1.50 paise per minute while for rest of the day the long distance tariff would drop to just 50 paise per minute for maximum up to 30 minutes.

Similarly, for local calls, for first three minutes of the day calls would be at Re 1 per minute, then for the rest of the day the tariff would be 50 paise a minute.

"Against the industry norm of STD tariff of Re one per minute at an additional monthly commitment, new 50 Paise STD- local will provide the lowest all-India STD base tariff offer with no extra cost," Virgin Mobile India CEO M A Madhusudan said.

Virgin provided 1 re for first 2 minutes and then 50p for later calls. They have increased it to 3 mins. ( I know it's not much, but still pointing the facts out).

no body is paying the money from there pocket. specially these operators they know that how to make the customers fool. like yoyo from virgin or this scheme from virgin.

My dear friends, this seems to be a marketing tactics used by different operators at different times.

Every now and then they change their tariffs / offers and fool innocent subscribers.

And TATA's 49rs STV With Local@50ps is allready Avalable

Same As Reliance 49rs STV

Yes.

I presume it's 30 min per day. Then it works out to

(30+3)*30 i.e. 990 Min STD + all local call @ 50p/min for about 152rs / mth

See how fast and excellent at calculations our RIMwebians are.... Lesser mortals (read non-rimwebians) can be fooled easily by such clever tactics...No telco can fool our Rimwebians.....

SO Moral of the story is, more you browse RW, more you cannot be fooled by any telco.... Not to mention the wealth of knowledge gained not only in telecom, but also other areas.....

i believe this scheme has certain goodpoints unlike daily renatls

i use 496 for regularly calling my ppl on rel network. for others if i were to call on a single day(ex. sunday) the only renatl i pay is 3 rs.... i can atleast save 12rs (30x 0.5=15 - "3") a day. s not usefull 4 local calling .but 4 moderate std use probably ok.
