Zte Mc315 Datacard Installation Issues With Vista Ultimate

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Please help. I have been breaking my head with getting the MC315 datacard to work on Vista. Reliance customer care tells me I have to reinstall vista :(

I am able to make calls and recieve calls so the datacard installation seems to be ok.

Device Manager -> Properties -> Diagnostics seems to work fine.

But, when I connect with the dialer, it says "Connecting to device" and then aborts with the error "Remote server is not responding in a timely fashion"

Here are the logs :

Dude,

1)Have u tried the device by connecting in any other pc/laptop?

2)As u r able to make/receive calls,pls check u can make/receive sms also.

3)Check ur a/c status with the help of customer care.

4)Try by creating a manual dial up connection and connect.

Hi,

1) Works perfectly on other laptops, including an identical laptop

2) The calling / SMS part works perfectly, both directions.

3) A/C Status enabled. Checked.

4) Tried this too. No luck.

Some weird setting on my laptop seems to be causing this. Unfortunately, reinstalling Vista + other apps is the last option as there are too much of data and apps.

Regards,

Ramesh.

Pls try by disabling the internet traffic/firewall related settings in the Anti Virus s/w.

Upgrade your API Version.

How do I upgrade? And which API? Googled but found many responses for it.

Can you give me some pointers.

Thanks,

Ramesh.

After trying out multiple things, like restoring tcp settings to defaults, add/remove zte drivers multiple times and so on, finally resolved the issue.

I was creating a different Windows user for connecting to a domain, and decided to give one more try to connect logged in the new user account. And, it worked :-)

Ramesh.
