Mearish 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Dear People, Me a newbie to this forum however have been reading threads closely from most of the guru's.... and honestly u guz rock man...pure assets for PPC world. I hv been using Audiovox 6700 (Verizon) with WM-6 ver + 2 GB MC + Batteries for a year and I am simply in lov with this piece on its performance. Still.............. (Pls note that I am very high end user of this phone with most of its features and still wanna try its max out of it.) > 40 Calls /day > 200 + SMS / Day > Dwnloads > 30 MB/Day (Min) - Internet sharing + Direct (Net connect) Your atmost help required to enhance features mentioned below for my phone and to all my fellow Apache's :- 1. Speaker volume is very poor thought I put it to the max. 2. Alarm Ringer choice are a few and short tones 3. No option to create Groups for SMS's 4. Scheduled SMS's (Time based) 5. BT is the most pain area wd less vibrum on coverage or watever u may technically tag it as...!!! 6. Delay on display of text typed on QWERTY Keyboard 7. Poor reception / either waz too..!! 8. Can the Memory slot be Xpanded from 2 GB to 8 GB..? 9. Is a anti virus required for a PPC. 10. Before I could use TRIM option in the Audio Manager bt now tat option do not highlight at all.. Do wat may..!! May be some could feel they are some simple one which I am asking for or the other way round. But honestly folks it will be my most thankfull features I would be at on every nik of the Hour. Pls help me with ur masterminds ...!!!folks..!! Waiting to hear from all you guruz in this forum. Use a group SMS tool from RJV ... lets you create groups and sms from there... 4. RJV has something for this too ... if you search in the forum you should find it .. i used to use this extensively (even now i do .. but on the 6800) 5. Search for a rom enabling the BT FTP / BT browser ... that seemed to have worked for me ... Tick on the FTP option in BT settings and "Find me on a search" and bingo ... it used to work miracles for me! 6. Try to remove apps running in da memory ... maybe increase the glyph / normal cache a bit .. disable any assisted text modes. 7. Change phone 8. Try it ... I've not tested it ... am not sure if MiniSD 8Gigs is available .. know about micro and normal SD's tho. 9. Personal Choice ... Now the problem is that it does not revert to WM5 and gives error msg ""The device is not designed for the ROM" or "101 Connection Error". The purpose of moving back to an older ROM to have stability as WM6 is Highly unstable on my PPC6700. I had customized a bit by adding additional utilities. So far, I did not get into any instability issues. 6700 runs much faster. The only problem I have is with Y! Go crashing after trying to login. Yeah! volume is an issue. I'm searching for a work around for that. No issues with reception. Works well in all places. I had installed the SD and SDHC drivers. Yet to check it working on 4GB SDHC card I had ordered (4GB SDHC microSD card with a miniSD adaptor). I heard that it works well with WM6.1 upgrade to 6700 (source ppcgeeks forum). It supports > 2GB cards. Love the keyboard. Much faster typing of information. I'm not sure if the alarm tone can be changed or not. Your requirements for a SMS grouping could be handled by a software (may be a freeware exists) Note: I had upgraded my friend's 6700, and he is also very happy with the wm6.1 upgrade (no stability issues so far). -PK Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Was so happy when I first created this thread thinking that with the help of u folks I will start to tests xtreme performance of 6700 bt nw Theres a saying nw for me .. Jho dhusron ko kabhar kohdta hey who kuhud kabar me gir jatha hey....!!! ok ok ok I know I hv not put that in the right phrase ....bt atleast u guz understud wats my point and see wats it for me nw Just s day back, My phone had drained off fully and then later after reaching home late night tired to charge it n use the phone bt it never did connect at all... was surprised to know wats happening ...yes puzzeld too a. No OG - 2 Engage tone & the call gts disconnected b. No IC - The reliance customer u r trying to reach is currently nt reachable (IVR Msg) c. Not able to dial *333 - One engage tone and the call gts disconnected d. Able to gt connected to *228 I called the Contact center and told them abt this since at times there are issues on connectivity bt all tat they say is gt my phone checked at a ASC. Its the phone problem.. bugged wd them I hd to sort it out my way. Back ground:[/b] I had cloned my MDN to a RUIM some time back wd a help of my frnd. But unfortunately I lost it at my office a month back, some time i am damn careless tat i forgot abt it. wd few efforts n luck was able to trace the RSN of the cloned RUIM and did a retain MDN to new RUIM. bt nw I use a basic LG phone. Now I am not able to use my PPC 6700 coz its ESN is still mapped to the cloned RUIM's RSN. What i understand is if I am supposed to use it then i will hv to Map/write my MDN to the PPC 6700's ESN. and I am stuck here ... Could u guz help me out plz... raju_a 31 Report post Posted November 1, 2008 Hi Ashokji, I tried flasing it with SD Card by making an image from an existing PPC6700, it started and showed a msg "100% completed" but when i did a reset and started it showed the same WM6. May be my method is not correct. So if u have link to the method can u plz share it. Or let me know what else can be done. i am going mad over the phone. Also last time KShah did mention about resetting MFT (Master File Tables) but i was not able to locate any clue as to how to do it.
