Hey Treo gurus..

Again I am stuck with my 755P..

Whenever my device's lights turn off (i've set it to 30sec) my system gets locked automatically and asks me my palm security code everytime I activate (by switching power key) my handset it asks me my security code..

I even tried soft reset.. but all in vain

don't know what is this

did u set any code for treo ...or were u using teal lock ???

try doing a hard reset ...

remove the battery cover ..press and hold red button,,while holding the red button remove and reinsert the battery

Hard reset worked, but again after hot sync the same issue..

If its working perfect after hard reset and giving problem after sync, some software installed by u is giving issues.

Dude do u restore back up aft hard reset???

Aft u finish hard reset... dnt restore... ull have to install all the reqd applcations again.... nd dnt use teal lock...

so when u mus have hot synced ...the pdb files must have been synced back creatin issues for u

just do a hard reset again .

now dont restore by hot syncing .start as a new device

someone here was asking for a software for archive his copy of sms's to his pc and to be able to open it in word/excel/txt file... is there such a program for treo? if yes, kindly upload it...

ok so hard reset solved ur problem ..

so when u mus have hot synced ...the pdb files must have been synced back creatin issues for u

just do a hard reset again .

now dont restore by hot syncing .start as a new device

I did hard reset and backed up my handset with a back date restore point using NV Backup and then did hot sync again..

u dont need any tool ...treodesktop does the job well

first understand that treo desktop works by reading content from palm database files that is obtained from hot syncing

so when u delete a txt message and hot sync ..obviusly treodesktop wont show u delted message since it reads from hot sync files ..

this is what u need to do

run treodesktop (make sure u r using full version and not trial)

then select message /chat u want to save

then below "file" tab there is an option to export the selcetd mssg/chat in txt file to the location u want on ur pc

now u have saved ur chat/mssgs ...if u delte them from phone ..treodesktop wont show u that message but u have the txt file that u exported earlier

hi just found some thing that was missing in palm:

Send with SMS: This system extension allows you to send short text messages from applications supporting the "Send..." command, for example the built-in Contacts, Memos, Calendar, Tasks.

Usage

* Select "Send..." from the menu

* Select "SMS"

* The text is pasted into the message, now you can fill in the "To:" field and click Send

Limitations

* It can only send Text, exactly like if you typed it yourself. The receiver will also get the data as text only. For Memos this is obviously not a problem. For Contacts, Calendar events, and Tasks you can use RNS:: TreoVCardReceiver to automatically transfer the incoming data into the associated application

About the file export, it would have been gr8 if it can b exported in CSV/.xls format..

Treo GURUs one more ques..!

Recently I was roaming across towns in my state (not in roaming area)

Suddenly, due to bad network my network strength in mobile went away with 'No Network' as my wireless status..

Again when I came back in coverage area, network didn't come up on my cell immediately for more than 2 hours..

I thought there may not be temporary coverage in the town I was in, but it was not the case..

Then I tried restarting the phone for more than 5 times.. Phone just said 'Searching network' but in vain...

In such cases, what can I do?

As in, we search network manually by searching them in GSM, but what if such situation happens in CDMA (specially TREO)??

Unable to hot sync!! :-(

As said above, for updating my treo's software version, I wanted to hotsync my device..

But, I am unable to hotsync it..

After I enter the hotsync button I get a reply "Connecting with the desktop using Cradle/Cable" and nothing else then that.. Device getting connected though (able to use card reader)..

What to do for this?

Hotsync problem solved after soft reset..

Don't know why such silly issues occur..

if u wud have read this topic fully, u wud have realised that u need to update ur prl to the latest one i.e. Reliance prl with international roaming posted by sadikk and also the procedure; search this topic/palm topics and u will find ur solution...

Using Treo since some months now..

However, off late it has become very slow in responding to simple tasks such as SMS or Contacts..

I havent installed any new softwares since long..

Is there any way to to make it fast again?

Are they are basic hygiene rules, such as clearing temp if any etc?

Go for Creative EP-630/Ep-830 in-ear ear phones

Excellent sound output.. Though it doesn't have a mic so you cannot use it for talking over phone and it has 3.5 mm plug so you'll need a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm converter and its here

Remove all the apps from phone memory and use it from expandable memory..

This is the best I found..

I would suggest you to go for it without 2nd thought if you wanna hear music..

Treo 755P has 2.5MM jack and EP630 has a 3.5MM plug..

so you need a converter
