How to trace the number +50977? Getting ransom calls from this number

I am from Patna in Bihar.

Someone has kidnapped my elder brother on 30.10.2008 and the kidnapper is

making ransom calls from 31st.The kidnapper's number displayed on my bsnl cell is +50977

probably uses VOIP like Skype , Yahoo Voice etc to make the ransom calls

and the police is unable to trace the calls.

Can anyone help me ?

Does anyone know which internet telephony company is he using ?

They have become too reluctant while tracing calls and all after Amar Singh episode. I dont know How much the police is going to help.

man i also pray that all the episode ends happily and ur bro comes home safely . . . but still i think the operator whose phone u r using must b knowing from where the call is originating and if not then why dunno u call the National helpline for the service which says whenever you get a call from abroad with a local CLI or some number tell us.

rude calls from +50977

i have been getting rude calls from +50977 from yesterday & the calls continued all night. The airtel customer care is not registering my complaint & is sugessting to approach the nearest police station. i'm thinking of the same but want to wait for today. if the calls continue today, i will approach the police dept. if anyone knows the correct procedure to deal with this type of call centre menace kindly b free to contact me on my email.

I am also getting call from this number +50977 but I am not an airtel sub ...whenever I pk up the call the other end disconnects ...or there are missed call on unexpected time like in the night ...if anyone has any info on this number plz share with us ...

I dont understand... what possible trouble can come from that message? All Im syaing is that I'v myself wondered about the origin of such calls! My friend never told me... and I never really probed... and now I'm not in touch with him... so cant ask again.
