Sony Ericsson Whips Out The Crystal Ball: 20mp Cameras And Hd For Mobile Devices By 2012

Recommended Posts

As tough as it is to predict what innovations and advancements might take place in the future, there are certainly general trends to follow. In our current global economic troubles, there’s no doubt that many development budgets have been cut in half, or cut completely until things start to turn around.

Sony Ericsson has made some predictions on where things are going. In a document that I’ve posted above, you’ll notice Sony Ericsson is making some bold predictions about the mobile device in 2012. The predictions noted above include:

  • Digital Cameras to go to 12-20 megapixels
  • Video Cameras to have full HD resolution
  • Screen resolutions to go XGA (1024×768)
  • CPU’s to hit 1GHz
  • Internet connections to reach LTE 100+ Mbps

Now wouldn’t all those features be top shelf? A 1GHz processor in my mobile device… Yeah, I could see myself blazing around the internet, downloading way too much music and email… All from wherever I happen to be. Sounds not bad. In fact, if my phone could simply download music to my cerebral cortex, and I could tap on the left side of my head to play, and right side of my head to pause/stop, that would be cool too. Just an idea.

One might want to say to Sony Ericsson that they should perhaps focus on building cooler device in the here and now, but you have to admit… it’s nice to see SE looking forward and not backward. You can’t get to where you want to go without a plan!

At the pace at which the developments are going, I surely feel these and many more are achievable. Only we should be ready by then to use it usefully

I think 20 MP cam is not of any use.

I like nokias idea of future technology than SEs.

Nokia said phones will come with inbuilt Projector just flash ur phone on wall/Screen and show ur project, watch Movie with family.

they said by 2015 u have charge phone once in a month, and that too rechrgin takes only couple of minutes to fully recharge.

They are working on Bluetooth type short range wireless technology, which will be far better thn BT. Its call Zibra i think.

SE is talking about 1GB Processor but not battery. Strange.

yes nokia has a lot of things in their R&D but i dont see any new things coming into the market from their side......if u remeber they had this concept of full touch screen phones a few yrs back....but then what happened the idea and development went cold and u had all flood of nseries handsets....now with iphone they revived their touchscreen development and came up with nokia tube...and in few mnths will come witha similar n series device....

i like nokia but these days i dont see much innovation from their side......infact samsung is goin to launch a phone which will have a projector ...in few mnths...i liked the hysteria they created when they came up with the idea of a convergent device with n95 .......but now all v see are refurbished n95s ( n85/n96/n958gb)...i hope to see atleast some innovative device from them in 2009 ......

i find samsung and apple to b more innovative than others.......

more than anything i would like to see innovations from apple"s side ...thyey r coming up with innovative as well as very appealing products...i wonder how an iphone of 2012 will b ......
