no point buying 3G nokia handsets from US ....firstly they work on nam frequencies for 3G ....so as and when 3G will b launched in india it wont work on these nokia handsets .....

nokia 7610 however is a non 3G PHONE ..

unlocking nokia phones is not an issue though ....its very easy and can b done even by u

also from my experience with nokia handsets it is always better to get nokia handsets with warranty ....

i support ur theory of warrantied nokia handsets .gsm handsets can be happily bought it india itself since they're readily available sooner or later.. Its better to import only cdma handsets whic won see the light of the day in india.
