funkyfuturist 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 DOCOMO handsets activated in Japan roam on the Reliance network in India. Some tweaking might be required and the DOCOMO handset will work on Reliance as a local phone.
mrasool 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 (edited) No the NTT DoCoMo handsets generally do not roam on the Reliance Mobile (CDMA) network in India. They only have 2-3 models that are dual-mode, i.e. WCDMA(FOMA)-CDMA2000 1x that have been designed for world roaming. Their partnership with Reliance Communications Ltd. is for mobile content , specially for deploying their i-mode (ccHTML) service at a future date.
