PPC 6700 - Dropped - Not Charging Now :(

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, my PPC6700 slipped out of my hand. There is no cosmetic damage. Initially the screen did not respond. After a couple of soft resets, the phone worked fine (also observed that this phone freeze happens after sometime). After few hours of usage and battery drain, I observed that the phone stopped charging. The charging light comes on, the battery indicator shows that the phone is charging. However, the battery is not charged. All other functionalities are fine.

Any guesses on what could be done? Also, do you know if this could be serviced? If yes, where?

Thanks for all the hints in getting this phone up and running.

Try - Remove the Battery; Press the power Button for 1 minute; reinsert battery and then try charging...

otherwise try this service centre, I went there once, authorised one, donno if they will service imported handset-

UT Starcom Authorised Service Centre for PPC 6700 - Redington India Ltd., S-3 Green Park Extn., Near Uphar Cinema, New Delhi-16 Tel: 011-46034444

Dhirendra Kumar, Engineer Mobile: 9990505755

They could tell u the address of the Bangalore Service Centre of UT Starcom...

Guys ! Thanks for responses.

Without me doing anything, I've observed that the phone is charging. However, it is somewhat slow. Also, I observed the following:

1) The discharge rate has increased

2) It takes a while to sense the total charge accumulated in the battery.

Note: I am able to make calls from 6700, and connect to the PC
