Sms Using Bb8830 - Packet Error

Hi

When I try to send SMS using MTNL Dolphin from BB8830, I get packet error. However I am able to recieve SMS.

Also SMS Message center no. is correct in the SMS Settings.

ANy suggestion to solve this problem?

Sms are sent in two ways. Your settings may be sending sms using packet data, in india sms are sent over paging channel.

The error you describe indicates that the device is trying to send an SMS message using an incorrect format on the network. Give this a try and see if it helps.

Go toOptions > SMS.

Scroll down to Network To Send Over and display the menu. Select Change Option > What is yours currently set to? What options do you have? Suggest you change this selection

if this doesnt work than try putting all ur messages urgent

Hi

Under SMS, I have following options :-

Disable AUto Text - Yes/No

Delivery Reoprts on/off

Priority normal/urgent

Service ecntre

Callback no.

No of previous items

I have already tried Normal/urgent before posting.

SO any clues?

Also, Can I set the packet /paging option using QPST/QXDM?
