Recommended Posts

Bangalore , January 2, 2009

Press Trust of India

Reliance Communications today announced the launch of Customer Experience Programme to the first few customers on its GSM network in Karnataka to get feedback to help improve the service even better. When a subscriber loads his/her handset with the Reliance GSM Customer Experience Card with a nominal fee of Rs 25, he/she would receive Rs five free calling every day during the next 90 days -- a total benefit of Rs 450 with zero recharge commitment, the company said.

In addition, there is a value super-accelerator in terms of completely free night time calling (with only a nominal charge of Rs 50 for 90 days) to any of over 25 lakh Reliance customers within Karnataka, it said.

"Now, we will not only be offering a unique Customer Experience Programme but also will be the first service provider to offer a choice of both CDMA & GSM networks in over 1,700 towns and 18,000 villages across Karnataka", R Swaminathan, Regional Head - Karnataka & AP Circles, said after the launch.

"Customer Experience Card is nothing but a SIM card", he told PTI, adding, the customers can give feedback through"*333" mode from their handset, through helpdesk of retailers and web portal.

The company recently announced the rollout of GSM mobile services, which will be available in 11,000 towns countrywide.

Amazing!! Thinking hats are on with Anil Ambani too.. I think its a positive step.. It gives me sense that their GSM services will not only emphasize on value advantage (price) but also quality..

Nostalgic!!

Like in the CDMA launch, soft launched on 28th Dec and commercial lauch from May,

GSm seems to be foreseeing the same trend!!

First build numbers and then value seems to be the hype!

SIM at Rs.25!

whatever, the number pull strategy rocks!!

rather than the push model, they always rely on the pull model at the initial levels!

...during the next 90 days...

So I would assume they expect to be ready for a full fledged launch within 90 days (3 months). This "beta launch" is definitely a good initiative.

Such a soft launch is the best way to move ahead rather than a full fledged launch which could have lot of problems initially.

so Karnataka, Punjab,... where else have it been launched?

Since it is launched in karnatak, guess it must be the same for other circles.Had it been tamil nadu, the case might have been different

No details available with CC or website, its a sorry state of RCom as usual..

Oh yes.. although website is painstaking for them to update, the story here is different.

They are probably not sure themselves how this 'GSM/CDMA dual infrastructure' thing is gonna work.

Once congestion sets in, then they are in a better position to judge.

Else it could embarass them if they be too loud with Publicity & updates.

Good initiative. Anyone in Trivandrum or Kerala, tried contacting the WW? Whats their take on the matter?

Finally Reliance GSM has launched its tariff plan in Karnataka.

Cost of sim card = Rs. 25

Recharge to be done at the time of activation = Rs. 25

Validity of connection = 6 months

Offer is that every day, 5 Rs will be credited to your account which will expire the same day if it is not used within 24 hrs. For a period of 3 months 5 rs will be credited on a daily basis. No additional recharge need be done if 5Rs/ day is sufficient. This amount can be used to make any calls, either STD or local. If additional recharge is required you can do a top up recharge.

Best part is from 11PM to 6AM RGSM TO RGSM/RCDMA (only within Karnataka) calls are absolutely free!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, the plan is not launched in Bangalore as yet. It is launched all over Karnataka except Bangalore. In Bangalore it might be launched on 15th of january, 2008, according to the information recieved from Reliance Communications outlet in Bangalore.

Sms details unknown...............

Roaming information unknown.............
