savramesh 37 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 instead u could come up with an application which sends sms with from number as our mobile number, just like sending sms from our mobile. benefit is the receiver feels like sms sent from our mobile and not from website also he can reply those sms which comes directly to us.. below the sms u can have advertisements.. let me know any such application already available ? For example, when u get the msg from you Bank, instead of numbers you will see alpha numeric name like "ICICI Bank" as a sender's ID. But, masking is possible only on GSM network, CDMA like reliance/ TATA doesnt support masking (though in some circle they do), in CDMA you will see the numeric number, which again can be fake numbers. We provide the SMS solution/ Products to the enterprise, but we do enter into agreement with them clearly stating spamming and illegal masking is not allowed. Such SMS can be traced back, hence if you visitor sends the SMS which contain illegal stuff and /or harass the recipients of such SMS, you will get into trouble as SMS was sent thru your account and you are responsible for the content sent thru it. Website who are offering free SMS, will give you only 100 characters, rest of the 60 characters includes advertisement, from where revenue comes in and these site verify your mobile numbers by sending the password to your mobile, hence when you send the SMS thru such site, website owners have the record of the visitors who is sending the sms.
