·abhishek· 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2009 hi i activated tata indicom internet on mobile, am able to surf internet through the browser. then tried configuring the outlook email - so tht office emails can be accessed. entered user name/pass, server ip address etc and finished the setup process post that when i click on send/recieve - it shows connecting, and then snychronising - but after long time it fails and no mails are downloaded can any1 help on whats the issue, i find it so confusing as of now Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It should be your mobile no.... hey am trying to sync my office emails - microsoft outlook - not gmail etc.... for tata mobile on internet user/password is 'internet" - got this from customer care and its working - i am able to surf internet on the IE/mozilla browser. basically email isnt syncronising.... dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted January 15, 2009 Please ensure that in the sync settings, the time period is set to sync all mails; office ip address has nothing to do with this if you have already got the emails on your Outlook in computer; also ensure that your office email is not blocked behind a firewall... dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted January 16, 2009 In the active sync window, there is tools-advanced tools and there you have to do settings of the emails you want to sync or not; also you can do the same through PPC also but it should be connected to the pc when doing so; what os are u running on your office laptop, cause in vista you need to install the windows mobility centre and in xp you need to install activesync 4.5; also try uninstalling fully and then reinstalling after shutdown; Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted January 16, 2009 delete pc settings from both the PPC and PC; uninstall activesync from PC; remember to take PIMbackup beforehand of all your contacts and messages otherwise they may get deleted; then install activesync on pc and create settings once again on both PC and PPC... ·abhishek· 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 hey Sadik bhai helped me, now email is configured :-) but am still trying to figure out how this piece of excellence works, if i cant make full use of it, will be a shame to me 1. how to ensure i can use wi-fi instead of tata inteternet, when in a wi-fi zone - if i go to Comm manager and deactive data connection - then wi-fi also doesnt work. earlier w-fi was working when i didnt activate tata internet, but now wi-fi isnt working though its connected 2. how to sms the pics taken from camera - i.e MMS 3. how to remove windows live search tab on homepage and put google search box instead 4. am told this device has lot of downloadable software options - which ones are a must try, and very popular? 5. does this have mp3 player, or i have to use windows media player for same ? 6. which path to use for what - there are multiple options to access one thing - and thts so confusing ! Click Start-Settings-Today-Items and untick Windows Live Search or any other icon you dont want; that will remove the windows live search tab 4. ·abhishek· 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 firstly the connection what u r using ( netconnect ) is better of for teethering purpose only it is not advisable to be used for checking or syncing emails and stuff y dont u try using tata zone wap connection am using tata indicom internet on mobile - rs 500 for 3000 minutes - for acccessing microsoft outlok emails...find it pretty satisfactory. through WAP u mean going to a website and accessing emails ? problem is whenver i want to use wi-fi instead of tata internet, i go to com manage and deactivate data connection, but again when i chek back the connection is activated - means i am being charged inspite of using free wi-fi ! so have to keep checking if data connection is re-activated and keep deactiviting it. i think this is coz whnever the wi-fi signal is weak, the data conection is activated and thus have to de-activate it !
