Great news ! RIM along with Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance launched curve 8900 today in India.

8900 launched in India for the special cost 27,500 INR.

Soon after launching the BlackBerryblackberry Storm in India, RIM is aback again with BlackBerry Curve 8900. The phone has been launched by RIM in association with Airtel , Reliance Communications and Vodafone.

“We are pleased to be working together with mobile leaders like Airtel, Reliance Communications and Vodafone who share our vision for wireless solutions in India. We have experienced growing demand for BlackBerry smartphones in India and we believe that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 will be a very popular choice amongst both businesses and consumers,” said Bawa, Vice President, India, Research In Motion.

BlackBerry brings with it a full-QWERTY keyboard experience adopted in a stylish compact design. The dimensions of the phone are 109 x 60 x 13.5 millimeters. It boasts of a GPS, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and 512MHz next generation processor, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth 2.0, all integrated in it.

The camera is assisted with image stabilizer, digital zoom, and video recording capabilities. The multimedia functions also include a media player . The phone also comes included with a 1 GB card and a memory card slot for swappable microSDMicroSD /SDHC memory card and with a support for 16 GB memory.

The key highlight of the phone is that it flaunts a large display screen with a resolution that is highest amongst those on any of the BlackBerry smartphones.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 also offers instant messagings and options like BlackBerry Messenger, Google Talk, Windows LiveWindows Live and Yahoo Messenger. Social networking options include support Facebook, MySpace and Flickr. For these, there is an enhanced full HTML browser in desktop style.

Additional features include preinstalled BlackBerry Media Sync, BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise.
