dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 ^ I think corporates will not be even 1% of the people who read Rimweb... for the rest 99% - Google will do... Android and Google is changing the world, the sooner you accept it the better.....
abhi.r 95 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 Totally agreed with Kshah There is no Ultimate Solution to a problem. Else there would have been no innovations.
kshah 452 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 ^^ I will never accept any thing as ultimate. Google or android, they will have competition, if not today, may be some times in future. I am using them both extensively but they can never be ultimate for me.
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 ^ As of today, Google/Android is the BEST... I have world sales figures to prove that... if tomorrow something better comes along, I will shift to that... but why spoil my TODAY thinking about the FUTURE... Live the moment... HetalDP 947 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 I dunno if this is the right section to post in I need to receive and send mails from my mobile is Blackberry the only option??? are there better/cheaper options available in CDMA or GSM I wouldn't mind carrying an extra GSM if it serves my purpose in a low budget. thanks in advance Currently MVL (G81) has launched abusiness phone with qwerty keypad and pushmail with about 3 email accounts in the price range of Rs.4500 to Rs.5500/-. it is the only handset with this feature.. and dual sim I am trying to get some user reviews but difficult to find as the handset is just about launched a couple of days back. Personally, i am making up my mind to go with MVL g81 from the market and BB7130e offerd here only Android supports only free mails like yahoo, G mail, MSN etc. True pushmail is supported by Nokia and BB as well as few other solutions like funamobile etc. MVL G81 is dual SIM and I ordered yesterday only after talking to his sales guy in Ahmedabad. Ofcourse phone is not going to be delivered to me, it will be delivered to person in Mumbai who needed dual SIM phone with push mail. Those who wants real time mail on corporate mail servers or paid mail servers should not get carried away by android propaganda. I use android and business mail but that is because my company mail is hosted on google servers. Android Support Gmail Gmail for Hosting Yahoo and Yahoo for hosting Hotmail with POP or IMAP Access Android Support all pull email standards like POP, POP3, IMAP Android also Support Microsoft Exchnage and in Froyo it support Remote Wipe, Remote Lock faclity with Microsoft Exchnage Enterprise Server settings. Android dont support proprietory Blackberry email, Apple Propriopty .me and Nokia Propriotry emails. All Gmail and Yahoo is true Push email as good a Blackberry. abhi.r 95 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 People thought the same when the very first Blackberry was launched(emails @ the speed of SMSs, well no body thought of it, later corporates worndered how they lived without it), and may be when the first iPhone was launched(it made consumers to ask LOT more from a mobile phone). Or when Google Android was launched(dont know much about it, but im sure it ought to be awesome as because so many of you guys like it). Take commercialization of mobile phone devices people use, once it changed people's life, then RCDMA who fulfill every common man's dream to own a mobile phone. Now even if you want a rickshaw wala at your door steps its just a phone call away. Now a days even a chinise phones have motion censor, face book, twitter apps and many more. Who would have thought about it 2-3 years ago when chinise mobile phones entered the market. So theres always a scope of making things better and better. Who know maybe tomorrow some thing new come up which replaces Android or blackberry or iphone. And whatever it would be, its will definately make people's life simpler. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) @hetal One word in the Indian psyche is its biggest strength as well as its its biggest weakness and that is Maybe (Shayad)... When difficult decision face us, westerners always answer in either YES or NO i.e. they take instant decisions based on their strengths and weaknesses; this has led to their BIGGEST VICTORIES (and rarely sometimes their WORST DEFEATS) whereas we Indians always try to think it over i.e. linger our decisions - thinking maybe something better will come along - we answer in Maybe (Shayad)... This has been engulfed in our psyche since generations... This may have lead to certain Victories in our history but more often than not to our worst defeats... Previously it was said that THE BIG WILL EAT THE SMALL.... Today it has changed to THE FAST WILL EAT THE SLOW (however big it may be)... I hope Kalpak also gets my drift... Yes, Guru, But I dont understand where am I suspicious? I always say, I use and enjoy google. I really like android, but it doenst mean that I do not appreciate WM7? I never liked palm Pre (Web OS, it was brilliant though) and it failed in market doesn't give me right to think that what I thought was correct. And believe me as I mentioned I never consider any thing ultimate. That's why I am enjoying android today but I appreciate Iphone more than android because they laid path. I still appreciate old PALM OS for its simplicity, speed and stability as well as sync abilities with PC. I like WM 6 / 6.5 too for few of its features and even Symbian though its dying. Also there is nothing like big, small, slow or fast. Once upon a time yahoo was big, fast and furious, now its google's turn. Tomorrow something else will come. Best would be to accept all possible solutions in market without being judgemental about it. Also keeping our option open so that we accept technology at reasonable pace and also keeping our mind closed enough that we do not become slave of technology and virtual world. After all we live in real world. Edited August 8, 2010 by kshah
