New Laptop

Recommended Posts

I want to purchase a laptop basically for internet browsing & Music purpose.

I am confused between Dell, Lenovo & IBM.

Further Dell has Inspiron & Vostro series. Dell Seller suggested Vostro.

Budget max Rs 50.000/-

Pls help me to choose.

Dell is best.

Go for Dell.

BTW for internet browsing & Music purpose you can go for NetBooks, which are light in weight and price too :D

Go for Acer Aspire One only for Rs.15k

Or for HP Mini Note, Dell Mini, Lenevo S10/9.

Should I prefer Dell Inspiron or Vostro??

Is ATOM based laptop sufficient. Can I do online trading using ATOM laptop?

Any review from anyone using ATOM?

Inspiron is basic Series, and Vostro is advanced Series.

Amongst these dell is the best. See the config or better still personalize to your needs.

Vostro comes under "business/office" class, while Inspiron comes under home category. Vostro has a sturdy/robust build because they are business oriented machines.

@saurav

Here is the topic of discussion of acer aspireone, where many users have posted their views - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=15083

Speaker quality of aspireone is louder than my aspire 4710 and is sufficient for single user; yes, you can do share trading and all other tasks that you do on any laptop; only thing is that the screen is a little small 8.9" and resolution 1024x600 and no optical drive; rest all normal tasks are fully functional and some even better; and u will save lots of moolah as it is available at only 15K for linux 160GB, 1GB ram model; u can load xp yourself; though I would have preferred a 12.1 screen with at least 1280x800 resolution but those available are nearly double the price; so choice is urs;

If this is not your cup of tea, then I think Dell Inspiron will be your best bet as it is a full fledge laptop with optical drive, core2 processor and 3gb ram; no need to go for vostro for home-office use; Also consider Acer travelmate 6292 ultra-portable laptop with 12.1" around 40K;

Ultimate Ultaportable will be the Samsung X300 but at a prohibitive price of 115K; also Dell Laltitude E4200 at 170K; Apple Macbook at 72K;
