sach@RIM 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 Hello All, I recently purchased a BB World Edition 8830 handset (my first Blackberry) and I'm a bit confused how to use this device optimally. The user guide provided with the device is not useful and does not provide the required information. I'm seeking your help in the following areas: 1. How to view/edit and create MS Office documents and also PDF 2. Currently the default browser is R-Connect, how to move to a blank browser where i do not require to connect to R-world every time 3. How to configure my Google based email accounts 4. How to set up Gtalk on my device Any help will be much appreciated Regards Sach@RIM

First uninstall ver 4.2 from your computer, reboot. Install 4.5, go to program files/common files/ research in motion/ apploader. Delete Vendor.xml(Shift+ Del). Reboot again. Then run desktop manager. you will be prompted for update. Remember: removal of vendor.xml is compulsory. Also, use desktop manager 4.7 for easy update. Be prepared for some bugs though such as low batt. life & slightly less clear dispaly(My experience so far) enjoy
