Saurav 22 Report post Posted September 13, 2004 Reliance Infocomm launches direct debit facility for RIM bill payment for ICICI Bank customers DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), Navi Mumbai, September 13, 2004 Reliance Infocomm has launched a secure online RIM bill payment facility in association with ICICI bank to enable direct debit through Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) handsets. This encrypted service is highly secure and easy to use. A subscriber can view his bill summary through the RIM bill payment service and can make payments, anywhere, anytime from his ICICI Bank A/C. "This is one of the simplest and convenient ways of remotely paying bills. We had earlier launched this facility for Visa, Master and Diners credit card holders and with the introduction of this facility for ICICI Bank account holders, RIM users now have the added convenience of making online payments from their bank accounts," said Mr. Mahesh Prasad, President, Applications Solutions Group, Reliance Infocomm. This facility is aimed at a broader segment of customers who have a bank account with ICICI Bank even if they do not hold or want to use credit cards. "We have over 2,00,000 registered customers for the online payment mechanism towards RIM bill payment, to date. With more and more customers enjoying a pleasant experience in utilizing this 'anytime, anywhere' facility, we are witnessing a significant growth in the number of online bill payments," Mr. Prasad added. The Java-based R World suite of services is unique in India and the world. R World already has numerous applications like news, streaming audio and video of movie and music clips, city & TV guides, games, astrology, stock price query and much more. Reliance IndiaMobile will be continuously introducing many more such useful applications from time to time.
