Yeah that's good info Vishal __ Username sam2 works too . I think R-Surf uses an encrypted token to authorise itself to view other wap sites. Same with Webmail app.

BTW I had also heard that a particular number as Username/pwd gives free R-Connect access but haven't been able to get hands on it.

Yeah only those links are allowed to load the initial environment of R-World on your phone. After that the downloaded midlets execute and request for more data in a secure way. This way Ur are able to access any pop3 server on Webmail applet and the entire internet from R-Surf.

Changing the links in your phone WILL NOT help other than possibly damaging the device.

For any further progress to occur one has to write a R-World emulator for desktop and also *(* back engineer the authentication protocol to allow access to internet rather than simply the R-World intranet.

Hi all,

It is not any number.

Try internet as user name and password as password.

It is charged as per your usual tariff plan.

how does this password go with pre-paid cards ?...anyone tried ?

im guessin the balance would go down in OUR card's account...as SKLM had pointed out its not "free" is this right ?

BTW, whats the tech info behind NOT being able to open the two "http" addresses from our browser ?

http://ssg.wdsap.ricinfo.com/ssg

http://da.wdsap.ricinfo.com/das

r they only phone-readable, not PC-readable ??

whats the scene ?

Maybe it opens.. as Opera 7.x versions are also able to browse wap sites :P

Hai all,

that internet@password will be charged as usual. But the main reason for that username and password is only useful where one office has many Reliance phones to connect to net, then they dont need to change username& password oftenly. That is actually for use in Reliance Main Offices, OTC, Web Worlds... becoz they have lot of phones...

:P

Hey Guys!

If U/N = internet and pass; internet is chargable then why reliance says using U/N = <ur pn. no.> pass = <ur ph. no.>? I think somewhere is Daal Mein Kaalaa ^_^

Yah! it connects even after changing the dialled no.

But I don't think there will be any benefit in changing the dialled no.

I think it is stored in phone that which no. to be dialled to connect net.

I'm telling this cauz i've seen the default no #777 stored in its File System:

open the file / -> nvm -> nvm -> nvm_0005

in this file u can see the entry of #777

So i don't think its useful.

15821[/snapback]

Yes vishal,

I also hve seen an entry of #777 in nvm_0005 but is it not possible that they entered this for that if we connect thru #777 then billing cycle start for rconnect??? May be it's possible but can't say clearly now i'm tracing this thing without putting any no. and tell after 1-2 days ... but i think it'll not be usefull cause if u used DIAS (BSNL) then u don't need to enter any ph. no. in dialling field only 0 can connect. i think if any cheat available then that is in U/N and Pass. that's it.

One gr8 thing!

The "Service Programming" utility of QPST s/w shows the RConnect phone no. #777 in "Data/web" tab.

I changed this phone no. to a single dot "." and when i tried to connect net,the phone restarted and rconnect dialer shows "UNSPECIFIED ERROR!".

when i changed it to other like "#" or "*", phone connected to net successfully.

and in the file system using bitpim it also shows the same string as i changed.

so it may be a way to use free net using FWP.

I'll check it.

vishal i was able to open a few other ricinfo.com URLs. There is a web server listening on port 8080 and 8888 as well. I m going to try and port scan the IP address range, lets see if we can idenfity any SMTP servers. if you want to try check out these URLs

I don't think dialing with that user/pass will be charged as far as R-World remains free. Success connecting to "internet" by this method equates to be able to establish a http or other protocol connection over a given port just like the Webmail/R-Surf applet does on the h/s

even if we cant get to the internet, maybe we can discover the method used to send MMS and/or SMS into the network!! That way we would not be bound by the presence/absence of RIM's MMS application on the handset
