Mufaddal 678 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Indian mobile phone manufacturer, Micromax says that it has secured a distribution deal with state-owned mobile network operator, BSNL for its 3G USB Modems. BSNL is currently rolling out its 3G network, and currently covers 11 cities - with the intention to cover approx 700 cities in the next 2-3 months. “It’s always been a delight to bring in the latest technology products to the Indian customers and through our 10000+ retailers present in India, we promise to reach all 700 cities of India with 3G Data card as soon as the services are available, “ commented Mr. Vikas Jain, Business Director, Micromax Informatics. The product, packaged in designs endorsing the BSNL brand ambassador and Indian celebrity, Deepika Padokone, is currently available in the cities of Ambala, Jallandhar, Jaipur, Lucknow, Agra, Patna, Durgapur, Haldia, Dehradun and Shimla. Micromax has launched both the HSDPA and the HSUPA variants of the data cards in the USB form factor. The product supports certain version of Windows as well as MAC operating systems and Micromax promises on releasing the support for limited versions of Linux operating system shortly. Micromax also has a unique product service setup and offers a toll-free telephone number for complaint registration, with complaint resolution time of less then 4 hours in “Class A” cities. Micromax also provides on-site service in most of the Indian cities, thereby saving the hassles of visiting the service centre just in case things are not right with the product.
