rEdshiFt 1 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 like, when we're rconnecting, does our IP address remain the same or does it keep on changing ?
umeshd 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 Have not actualy checked that but it should change. Otherwise Reliance will have to keep one IP address reserved for each phone which is not logical.
StaticElectricity 8 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 it does change, and it is 97.253.XXX.XXX in that range

Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 Most Net Operators give dynamic ip only.. First, Not to waste reserved ip's.. Like if you assign each user with a ip and finally if no 1 dont connect, tat kinda wasted.. Some operators even charge you for giving u static ip (on request)
spadival 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 U dont need a static ip unless u r running a web server or something similar.. Thats why the ISP's charge extra.

vamankini 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 hi STATIC as someone had earlier said, u need a static ip only if u run things like a webserver or a vpn .. else its good that u get a dynamin ip ....because u r ip keeps on changing ... and if someone blocks ur ip for something which u did .. dont worry just reconnect and ur ip changes and there u are trying that old stuff again ...without getting a access denied message rgds vaman

anujit 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 I don't know if any ISP offers static IP's to single users (i.e. non-corporate). Even cable, broadband, ADSL and what have you not in the US --- gives their customers dynamic IPs purely for security reasons. And damn right too I say! Why would you want a static IP with a mobile phone!
