This is from the MTS india website form the FAQ section:

Q2. How do I check my balance after a recharge or after making calls?

After every chargeable event you make on your account, MTS will send you an SMS with your new balance.

If you wish to check your balance at any time, dial 177 (toll free) from your phone and select option ‘2’ for balance enquiry.

Please call MTS Care at 155 for terms and conditions regarding your account validity and minimum recharge requirements.

It clearly mentions that after every chargeable call a message is sent notifying the customer about the current balance. In 6 yrs of providing CDMA services on a pan India basis, Reliance and Tata have not been able to provide these services........

^^^

that means once the call ends they will send a normal sms with balance and not displaying the balance in screen as in gsm. so this sending sms after call was always possible.. just think one makes 50-100 calls everyday and after every call he gets an sms then almost everyday his inbox will be full...

this sms balance service will be useful for some and headache for some.. :)

yes, If its just about sending SMS, then its better without this service. Why is it not possible to show the balance as a service message as in GSM?

Tariffs are not at all attractive that too its new operator and top of that its CDMA!!

When people are not intersted in buying Virgin itself which pays us 10p/incoming call, now why should anyone purchase this..??

Now the consumers are quite well educated about mobile services/technologies and everyone knows that CDMA is a headache!

i had written on-net in mypost.

also any way it is cheper than rcom offering 500min/month for lifetime in rs4444

and also if u stick for even 1year with MTS, ur rs499 deal will be profitable
