I bought 8830 from Tata Indicom, wud like to know if by anyways it cud work for my Vodafone number, if yes : 1. These 'open/unlocked' sets are picked up cheaper from the US & other countries where operators follow an agreement system with Customers (free phone) which is binding for 12/24 months etc. You now know what happens to these agreements. Although not all phones fall in this bracket, they're anyways 'unlocked' somehow & shipped for everyone to benefit ! One can still do it for BB's bought in India.. but they have to pay a full price unless you trick TATA into 20 BB phones EMI scheme & dupe them.
