People With Bb 8830 Needed

Recommended Posts

i have got a way to activate browser on blackberry without activating bb service .

also one can use email client without bis/bes .

the method works for gsm bb as it uses tcp connection configured by u .

i got it working on bb pearl 8100 .

it might also work on bb 8830 ..but i need people with bb 8830 to test it

so for those who have sprint 8830 with data connection ( gprs ) thru tcp working on their phones can mail me .....

preferrably running os 4.2

i m not sure but it might work on bb 8830 .or other gsm handsets ....its just a try ..i m not sure since i dont have bb 8830 with me to test it ..

also as far as cdma bb are concerned recently i read a guide which shows that u can enable data on your cdma bb without having bis /bes ...it involves nv editing your mip settings thru qxdm ...

someone with cdma bb can try it out

on gsm blackberry it is possible by restoring a modded service book which will allow u to use bb browser and email client using your tcp sonnection .

i got it working on airtel bb pearl of my frend .

as far as cdma is concerned i m sure u must have seen the guide on mip settings .

well that guy did it on evdo with nv editing hdr settings ...

but it should work with simple ip also .

if he got it working then there should be soemthing with simple ip as well .

as far as 8830 is concerned wth gprs it might work ,

need to do some more testing .

ok ...got it working on 8830 .

pre requisite u should have active tcp connection .

should work on 8820 as well .

next step ...to get blackberry maps/bb messenger working .

if someone using bis /bes on reliance can send me the service book we can do something with cdma as well ...

after talking to lot of techies i m confident enough that it is possible to get data connection on cdma bb as well on 1*rtt ....

@sadikk

what os is bb 8820 running 4.2/4.3 or 4.5

well before sending service book just know that your service book will have all your info abt your bis /bes

though i wont misuse it :winko:

using backup manager u can backup your service book ...

or by just taking the backup of your device which will backup the .ipd file as well .

at present i have 4 service books ....

u can come online we can work it out for your 8820 /8830 easily ...

if u can provide with unofficial 8830 can work out on cdma data

Hi Guys

Any progress??

For Testing Internet on Non-BIS BB with 1X, u still need Data active on ur ESN :) else no joy.

BTW, I have Data active on My ESN now. So I am game for testing out ur soln for CDMA.

I also have it working on GSM 8830 using MTNL PrePaid. I am using BB Browser, Bolt & Opera.

How can we change the default browser. I bought this phone from Sadikk and the default browser config is "reliance mobile workd".

Can this be changed, I am using Airtel GPRS for data.

U need to got to Options- Adv options -TCP. U will find Reliance GSM settings there. Change them with Airtel GPRS settings. Do a google for Airtel GPRS settings. Then u can use Ur Airtel GPRS with 3rd party browsers like Opera & a new - Bolt (* For BlackBerry devices, you will need to install the following BlackBerry specific version: BlackBerry specific build: http://boltbrowser.com/beta/boltbrowserbb.jad

)

U can also activate ur BB Browser using a awsome soln posted on teh net. DO a google for Anworm & u will find a soln to using ur BB Browser wout BIS/VES plan using AIrtel or any GSM perator wven if GSM operator is NOT offering BB service :)
