you are right. But more than tariff changes, I think 'CDMA' is hurting their growth the most. It is unimaginable for a new operator in "the fastest growing mobile market" to show negative growth.

I can't understand with what (over)confidence they used CDMA to start operations!!

^^^ well ... there is nothing disastrous in choosing CDMA. It may have saved millions of dollars in roll-out cost for MTS. Also there is a huge opportunity through data business.

and... once the M&A guidelines are set, MTS can acquire a standalone GSM player(any guess who??) to become a PAN-India CDMA-GSM operator.

In NOV they were having 3037147 subscriber

NOV 2708706

DEC 3042741 ( add 3.34

JAN: 3256032(addition of 2.14 lakh)

FEB: 3502491(2.46 lakh)

That shows they are slower in monthly additon,

And not NEGATIVE growth

Same was happened wirh RGSM/DOCOMO

Now it's time to get settled down to stabled addiiton of Appox 2.5L subscriber per motth

And UNINOR/ STEL will also get slows down once their time will finish.

I think major looser is RCOM

in spite of Large product base gsm/cdma/ data card /hello- their addition is just 2.8

They have to spend lot of money to maintian all infrasture and not getting new subscriber, REALLY looser

I doubt, some people had purchased new sim card of RS35/10, to enjoy 1day free calling on 28th march

Such cust will never use sim card in future, but bcoz of lifetime vailidity rcom will count them as active subsciber

I am comparing Rcom addition with aietel/vodafone and tata indicom,

Yes, of course I mean RGSM. Still no respite in spite of the promises made. My RGSM remains useless for voice calls due to horrible voice clarity.

I have decided to shift all my numbers to uninor once MNP comes. Because they have Good plans like Rs.198 Unlimited plan which gives 120000 secs(2000mins) to uninor and 42000secs(700min) to any local which no operator is providing.And coverage also better than Airtel and reliance and Docomo in my area

This is due to the introduction of per sec billing, + Discount plan on that

But are they giving good discount on per second billing also? I have seen them giving good discount on per min. billing. I'm inclined to think discount will be lower for per sec billing. Actually, they should give better discount for longer calls (for PSB). But they display discount before initiation of a call, so I guess thats not how it works.

If they come out with 1p SMS packs like RCom, Docomo, etc., they will do even better.

Uninor's voice clarity rocks here. It can put RCDMA to shame...

^ No . They do recycle old numbers. I am sure of this because my deactivated prepaid number is allocated to some one else.

My earlier BSNL number which I stopped using 4yrs back is still not reallocated.
