zeemoo 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Hi all .... i am using "HUAWEI EC168C USB Broadband Device" "EVDO" !!! i am having problem in my DELL Laptop model "DELL Inspiron . 1525", Operating system Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. Device Mass Strage is working but My Laptop Hardware change is not detecting any new modem of "HUAWEI EC168C USB Broadband Device" i am unable to install the moden coz its not detecting by the laptop !!! i have tride so many time to install the manual driver but if the Laptop is not detecting the Modem so how can he pick the Driver !!! i am very upset abt that !! its working ok on win Vista Ultimate 64 Bit, Win XP 32 Bit, but only problem i am having in my windows !!! kindly resolve my problem !!! chiradip 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 The driver issue occured in a Vista Machine but that was with the printer. HP printer was not detected by the machine, which was supposed to be detected automatically as per HP. The only solution I tried that to install the latest service pack (Vista SP1). When the machine rebooted after installation without any further intervention the machine accepted the printer and for last four months the machine is running fine. You also may try to install the latest updates and service packs, probably the problem may get resolved. i think u dont get me correctly ... my problem is regarding installing the Huawei EC168C Usb Broadband Stick ... i am using Windows Vista 32bit SP1 .... i can use the Huawei EC168C as a Mass Storage Device but i am not be able to install the Modem driver for broadband !! i know one thing that if u download the Reliance Netconnect Software for this device coz u people know Reliance Netconnect are also using the same device as EVDO ... still i am getting the same problem !!! but one of my friend install the Same Reliance Netconnect Software for Huawei EC168C and its working well and also detect the modem !!! my problem is regarding my Laptop is not picking the Modem hardware !!! i have tried so many time but i hope now u guys get my point !!! city02 63 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 i had problems getting my broadband [HSD] usb to work on my HP laptop with vista WWE customer care spent 2 hours trying to get it to work and even uninstalled the data stick for the old [narrowband] data stick without any luck after detecting the modem, i got it working by simply running in XP compatibility mode now it works fine on my vista laptop... GURU Jee .... i am using EC168C in pakistan here worldcall telecom is offering CDMA based Broad band services !! when i try to install the EC168C through the software worldcall gave us i am having problem detecting 3G modem of my EC168C .... finlay i have download the Driver setup of reliance EC168C so my windows is detected the modem or all required drivers and with out desktop icom of Mobile Partner it can also access.... but if someone having problem regarding this so how would i help them !! i dont think dat its a good idea to install the reliance EC168C software as Worldcall EC168C ... can u help me so dat can get the drivers files from it so dat my windows detect the modem driver !!! both companies have the same setup size but still i dont understand which file is missing !!!
