Beetle 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Freinds can you share your experiences (if any) ? I am seriously considering to get myself a dog, puppy. Been loounging at these pet care sites. Let me tell you a bit about me. I live in two room apartment in Bangalore, and basically spend most of my time here, a loner. Will it work out for me, my parents say I would not be able to look after it. I am not responsible enough..!! I know there is no link to CDMA here, but if this is a bother, please delete the topic. jusmail 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Are you willing to take the dog for routine walks to allow the dog to empty its bowels? Are you willing to provide food and bone biscuits in a scheduled manner? Are you willing to tolerate dog hair on your couch (if you plan to keep it in-house)/ Are you allergic to pet hair and other particulates? If you say yes, to all except the last question, go for it!!!
raccoon 53 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 A canine, esp. a puppy is just a wee bit less demanding than a human kid! Unless you are in a position to make that kind of commitment, you should reconsider. My dog was my entire family's baby, and I can't imagine me alone having taken care of it ...not with college, work and all. Besides dogs don't make very good pets for small apts ...and they abs. hate being left alone ...and will raise hell if kept that way, esp. for extended periods of time. So do consider these points. Perhaps you would be much better off with a cat. They are FARRRR less demanding.

Good point Racoon, but then Dogs are better as pets then Cats. Cats have no respect to thier owners. I am a very fickle person and am sure a dog will forgive and forget for one biscuit. Cats are like your Gf you really have to coax them..!! Well, my cousin has a doberman big black dog with huge cannines. Very moody actually, never intimate. I want an animal which can give me company something which will draw me away from my long hours of internet commitment . I do have a lot of free time on my hands but I waste them. Maybe I can, needs a lot of introspection. Yes, I agree its a big commitment. Edited September 28, 2004 by EEPROM

I am a very fickle person and am sure a dog will forgive and forget for one biscuit. Cats are like your Gf you really have to coax them..!! Dogs are better as pets? That would be a moot point! But yes, generally dogs kinda demand more and give more. The RIM Kyocera 7135 will 'give' more than say the 2030, but will burn your pocket in the process! Respect? Would be intresting to go into why you really feel like getting a pet. People like dogs more cus they know how to polish the human ego ...otherwise cats have their own charm. Besides the cat would be a much better option as a prototype to a future gf!!! Well, my cousin has a doberman big black dog with huge cannines. Very moody actually, never intimate. I want an animal which can give me company something which will draw me away from my long hours of internet commitment . How 'intimate' you are with your pet depends more on you than the pet! My dog was a 'dog' (& a whole lot more) with me ...and a 'cat' to my dad!! And incidentally, my cat was a 'dog' with me and an alien to my dad... And lastly, I'd emphasise: Ask not what your pet will do for you, rather ask what you can do for it... Edited September 28, 2004 by raccoon
