asheet 3 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Further to my post, here is an update (withhelp of aircel friend) :- 1. For WAP : APN - aircelwap, username & pwd - Blank. Proxy: 172.17.83.69:8080. Charges 10p/10kb. All browsing & downloading chargable at 10p/10kb. 2. If u use Pkt Internet card, APN will be 'aircelgprs'. No proxy reqd. ALl browsing & downloading is FREE except for paid content. For eg, gmail will be free to download attachemnts, download torrents but if u download a wallpaper from a paid portal, u will be charged. U can use this with PC also. Create a conection. Dial no. *99#. username & pwd - blank. Now u can start surfing. Lastly, I was told that the wap & gprs will NOT work on BB. Aircel is shortly launching BB offers. So lets see how our techies activate BB on AIrcel with Rs 98 unltd plan. Cheers!!!!! Update : AM able to use gprs on 8830. Set apn as aircelgprs & it works wout Rs 98 recharge also, Also fine print says - Fair usage policy applies which limits all data tansfer to 10GB or so. Himanshu Singh 19 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 purchased sim for 20 with lifetime incoming validity and talk time of 10. Further did 98 recharge. Browsing and downloading on mobile is smooth. Speed is great. Havent tried to connect on computer. This is for new delhi. Certain areas have signal problems so browsing too gets affected. Otherwise good service. I tried Tata pde settings but GPS was not working. ALso no Data Txfer It works wout Tata pde settings.. atleast Data txfer happens but am unable to get a lock- may be becuase of cloudy weather. DHARMATMA 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 Is it working on computer as well ?? yes dear its working on computer/ lap tops u need to have data cable and pc suite speed during day is 7-8 kbps and aftr 11 in night its around 13-14 kbps it may be 7-8kbps during day at ur place but here in orissa it gives approx 13-15 kbps and at night it goes to around 20-22kbps just try to use it with different modems ans some tweaks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Thanks The apn is aircelgprs.pre (or aircelgprs.pr NOT sure, but one of the two is correct) for aircel prepaid customers... I have seen this in my friend's prepaid Aircel phone settings...
