Beetle 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Two options 1. If you know the original ESN revert to it. 2. Go to the service center.
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 I think he didnt write the ESN. cauz he told that he accidently did it. So the only way: Goto the service centre.
karpar 1 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 How many people have warned about using UniCDMA! Still, these incidents happen! The best way as already suggested is to go to the Service Centre, I'll add something more...I don't think they will ask the reason, if they do, tell them you dropped the phone and start cursing them for having to take so much pain just because you dropped it...they won't utter a single word then
iiii_pretender_iiii 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 Hello there Kishore, Back in the earlier days, when we were still fiddling around with these softwares, I had also "succesfully" changed my esn to "0". After that i could not make outgoing calls or recieve calls. I dont know how you are able to recieve calls. However, This was two days after i had the PCB of my phone changed after blowing it off. On an advise from chirag, i had visited LG's lower-parel service center and those guys did the neccessary work within 20 mins. No hasseles. They did not ask me any questions. Code 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 They don't ask U any questions. Even if they ask - Your Answer is 1."I don't know why Ur phone is not working". If Ur unsure what to tell next .. Refer to Ans No
kams19 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 ok guys thnx for all the replies.. the incoming calls are even not coming.
hyper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 do u have the original box of the phone. cause the original ESn is written on the box, usually.
hyper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 also if u have a copy of the original FORM that you filled out, the ESN is written on that too.
Beetle 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 No.. The ESN is not written on the box. Maybe you are reffering to RSN. Only Nokia2280 has the ESN on the box. I dont know about the original forum. Will check this piece of info. Thanks Hyper
iiii_pretender_iiii 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 (edited) Hi guys, Whats written on the phone box are the SKU, MSN, RSN. These wont help here in this case. Best take it to the LG service center. Edited October 3, 2004 by iiii_pretender_iiii
Beetle 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 I have tried to find out the relation between ESN and RSN. I have found none. The difference is that Reliance use the RSN for authentification at webworld or service center, but use ESN for over the air authentification. I would like to know if there is a mathematical relation between the two.
kams19 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 guys me took to the service center, no help, they tell to change the whole pcb.. don know why.. have been to 2 service centers, both say same. pl help!!!!!!!!!
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 guys me took to the service center, no help, they tell to change the whole pcb.. don know why.. It may be cauz ur handset might not be detected by their s/w. So changing PCB is the last option for them.
Code 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 That's because legally they can't get to know the ESN from Reliance to write it. The only way they have is to put a new board and then RIM will activate using the new RSN etc. ESN is related to RSN but none of us know the exact mathematical relation. Utsav 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 What are these ESN and RSN numbers used for in the Handset?
kshah 452 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 No RSN has nothing to do with ESN. When I blew off PCB of my 191, service guy sent mail to reliance to know ESN and MIN, which was given by reliance and was written to new board. When I inquired, they said, new boards has no ESN on it. They just have OS installed, rest of the things has to be written. As you all might aware, PRL is programmed when phone is activated using *228. So they have to write PRL, ESN, MIN, Channels (usually part of PRL). Go to service station thay will write ESN for you. Alternatively, just blow off PCB. may be you can cut one leg of CPU / EEPROM or other chip make phone dead. If DAPO claim insurance.
abhideswal 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Hi all, I reset my Nokia 2280 using *#7370# as i didn't knew the SPC code. Now my SPC is set to default i.e. '000000' but the phone is not catching the reliance network. I have all the settings written with me and i tried feeding it. but it still does not catch the network. also the rworld and the starting animation of reliance has gone away. anyways i don't need them also. I have all the MIN, MDN, RSN Nos. Can anybody please help me in getting back to reliance network without going service center. Thanks in advance. abhishek. Code 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Alternatively, just blow off PCB. may be you can cut one leg of CPU / EEPROM or other chip make phone dead. If DAPO claim insurance. 15283[/snapback] Simply use bitpim and delete the system files I still believe RSN is related to ESN & MSN to MIN may be wrong though.
