me_saket 73 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 ^^^Instead of expanding smart gsm all over india, why did they started cdma and again went to gsm.. any comments ? rcom was having license to operate fixed line, so they choose cdma, as their was facility to provide mobile handset through WLL . and as per govt WLL was consided as FIXed line phone and not mobile. so rcom takes illegel route for mobile telephony in india. and saves some Rsxxx cores requires for license of mobile operator. this all happedc in year 2000-01. It wasn't Anil Ambani who started CDMA service but it was started by Mukesh Ambani. IT might be but i dont think so... bcoz the reason is ... smart is under RTL which is a Subsidiary of Rcom where as the new licence they have got is under rcom.... even every one is confused bcoz the company is treating both rcom and rtl as difft..... not as on net calls. even rcom applied for pan india launch of new gsm bt they were denied for 7 circles where they are already having smart gsm, and rcom is treating smart of bihar & MP circle as onnet and other smart gsm as off net Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
