Thus, there is no doubt that Android has a huge potential for growth. In order to be an early mover and take advantage of this potential growth Geodesic has launched its Mundu IM for Android mobile phones. Mundu IM is an instant messenger that integrates MSN, GTalk and others into one interface. It offers users an easy way to connect live with their friends. Mundu IM is also available for other mobile platforms including Symbian and Windows Mobile. Features of Mundu IM for Android are: All-in-one Messenger: View and chat with all your contacts across AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ and Jabber within a single interface. Conferencing: Chat with multiple friends, colleagues or clients. File transfer / Photo sharing: Transfer files from your mobile device to friends. Smart group management: Organize your contacts by services, groups and set alias for your contacts. Background mode support: Stay connected on IM while you are on the phone or accessing other phone functions. Manage your online presence: Tell your friends when you are free to chat or busy. Scroll the conversation: Scroll the entire conversation - up or down - on your Android phone. Direct calling and browsing: If you received a telephone number in chat, click on the number directly to call. Similarly click on the received link and it will open immediately in the default browser. Customized alerts: Set customize alert types (vibrate, sound, LED) for new message or conference invitations. In India, Android phones are available through some websites only and soon would be available in stores as well. Globally, accordingly to HTC, they have sold about a million phones of G1 in the last financial year. With T- Mobile and Samsung already joining the league, other players like Sony Ericsson, Huawei, Lenovo, Acer and Kogan Technologies are soon expected to take the plunge for providing Android phones.
