Reliance And 8830 We Is A Fud

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I am from Udaipur, Rajasthan and I bought Reliance 8830 WE in Feb this year and since the usage of 1 month I started having issues with it.

The very freaky thing is the Trackball which is so delicate that you might need to hold it in gloves every time else it can get dirty from your thumb and causing a damage to Sensor. My Trackball started misbehaving almost after 4 weeks of usage. Sometimes it did not up-scroll and sometimes it went just out of control.

Recently now I have started getting problem of sudden rebooting and my handset Reboots automatically 4 times in one hour!

I have been chasing up Reliance Customer to trouble shoot this. They suggested me to try wipe which I did and I knew that it will not help. I infact reinstalled the firmware again and it dint help. I am forced to travel Jaipur which is 600 Kms drive from Udaipur to get the Handset inspected.

So far I have been completely dissatisfied with Reliance and Blackberry both!

After I had problems with my Handset I searched for Reviews of 8830 and I found web is full of negative reviews about this Model and specially the Trackball.

I do not recommend this Model as well as using Reliance blackberry services!

Since you have bought it from Reliance, doesn't it have replacement warranty?

none has the aforementioned problems ite of using it without any pouch

if u have trackball problems then i guess ur warranty shud cover it up .

the trackball problem happens not only in 8830 but it occurs on almost all bb models .

ASC are replacing BB's having trackball issues..

Why not try in the ASC if this is purchased thru WW/WWE franchisee.

@ankitbhargava,

I returned my LG 6230 almost 3 years back and also got a full refund. Email to CMO etc and complain that you are very unhappy with the handset quality. They will try to replace with 1 or more handsets and if you still feel that you are shortchanged, you can ask for a full refund of your money. Try your luck, I was very lucky and I got an extra Rs 750 also for my efforts.

Hello All

Yes I had been chasing and shouting a lot for the replacement and finally got a new one today.

I am keeping it packed and wish to dispose it since I have serious doubts about the trackball.
